Just got my Direct Debit details from EDF following GNE going into administration. Payments have increased £20 a month! I thought we were supposed to be put on an "equal" tariff until September? Fuming!!!0

Perhaps you cancelled your DD, or like me, they missed a months payment over the course of the transfer?

I have to admit I have getting fed up with this now.
I have had no "final account" statement from GNE. The £400-odd credit that was on the account when they ceased trading could be anywhere.
EDF asked for a meter reading, which I provided.
Nothing else, no tariff information or anything (but I suspect the rate is not competitive). Appalling customer service - just want to get through this nightmare and go to another company. 2 2

My switch from GNE to EDF is progressing slowly too. It's taken two weeks since EDF first contacted me but my electricity asccount has now moved onto stage 3 (of 4) "Meter reading check". There doesn't seem to be an option of actually submitting a reading, I guess that will turn up eventually. My gas account is still at stage 2 (of 4), "Registration in progress" although if I check on-line EDF is showing as my gas supplier.N. still not had any contact at all
however I am gas only which is apparently lower priority
Also I only joined GNE on february 3rd just after they went into administration (I was unable to stop the transfer due to the date I applied)
I suspect I will be right at the back of the 300K+ queue, just hoping I dont get forgotten due to when I joined
now the website has closed down Ive decided to cancel the DD as I don't want further DDs been taken which I cant see a record of - if that causes a headache with sorting out the right tariff then so be it1

Little update: Logged in to the EDF website. It's crap. Requires multiple scriptblocker disablements, never a good sign. There was no such crap with GNE.Then i read on my account that they are waiting for a meter read. Yet i have recieved no email to tell me.Abysmal.And why is this site continually adding blank lines between my comments? Can i not do this myself? Nanny state.1

It's a MSE Design Feature but somehow some still manage to post huge blocks of text as well as huge expanses of white.Wobbly_Bob said:And why is this site continually adding blank lines between my comments? Can i not do this myself? Nanny state.
I am still awaiting to experience the delights of the Edf website - no account or DD setupNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

Like Robin9, I am still waiting on account details. I cancelled my DD in March as I was unhappy about making payments without proper bills. Why is it taking so long to sort out accounts?0

I'm a patient person, but it's now three months after EDF supposedly took on all GNE accounts and I still haven't had any contact from them whatsoever - not even a measly bloody email, so I'm also pretty fed up. No final bill from GNE either, of course. I'm just glad I cancelled my direct debit so I'm not currently paying anyone anything! I know it will all come out in the wash, but it's really annoying.Grumpy_chap said:I have to admit I have getting fed up with this now.

I've had a 'not long now' email telling me I'll soon receive a welcome pack, but that hasn't been forthcoming.
GNE are still taking my DD. I'm probably unusual, in that my DD is set far too low - so I will have a lot of catching up to do eventually.0
