How long has it taken for everyone on here from that email to initial account setup?0 -

I got the email with my edf acciunt number on the 26th March. My account is still not fully setup and operational.
Would be interesting to know if anyone has had their DD with edf converted and working automatically through to first bill, or whether everyone has to re setup their DD (as in my case)0 -
Theres a couple of forum threads but posting here as well on the tarrif situation as this one seems the popular threadMy GNE account now shows a higher cost since they cancelled the DD. The GNE tarrif kwh charges are the same for non DD and DD, but standing charge is up by approx 60%/15p a day for both
For EDF the non DD that they now show both kwh and standing charge have been increased for gas, weirdly theres a minor reduction in kwh for electricity but standing charge is increased - both by around 4p a day
So worst case my GNE final bill - possibly to April 12th which shows as my end date - will be 30p a day higher for most of this year, and my EDF tarrif from April will be 8p a day more expensive than it should be. Not looking good!0 -
I have now received my "you're live " email from EDF, managed to set up a direct debit as i cancelled mine in March, just waiting for my final bill so i can have the argument about the higher bill for cancelling the direct debit.0

I got my two DD emails from EDF yesterday. One for gas and one electric.
I wasn't pleased to note they will be taking two payments in May, 12th and 25th despite me having a near £400 credit with GNE!0 -

Weird as mine on the 24th March was returned by my bank - am still trying to get an answer from my bank but assume as GNE had cancelled0

If you look at your bank DD details I expect that you will find the April one to GNE has been cancelled; So it looks like the one on May 19th is the April one and that on the 25th is the May one..
When you say £400 in credit is that actually correct ? GNE bill my account 3 monthly and what is shown as credit is the sum of balance at the last bill plus DD's collected - it does NOT INCLUDE the cost of energy consumed - that is not included until the date of the next billNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
