You don't need to be, but always handy for contact via email or mobile on my opinion.gemmajenkins0208 said:
I'm not registered on patient access. Do I need to be? I almost never go to the Dr's, so haven't felt a need for patient access' services thus far.Barny1979 said:
Have you logged in to Patient Access to see?gemmajenkins0208 said:I haven't had any doses yet.
My brother and my partner both received letters in the same week about a month ago now(they are both 34), my brothers partner received a letter week before last(she's 27), I am 30 so should have had a letter between my brother, partner and my brothers partner receiving theirs. I know some of my friends who are the same age as me have received letters and booked their vaccines.
Not entirely sure what to do to chase it up tbh. I'm thinking my gp surgery haven't got correct contact details for me on the NHS system...0 -
Different areas are working at different stages.
Each area will move on to the next group when they complete the one they are doing. They will not stop and wait for another area to finish that group.
So, it is entirely possible for different age groups to be done at different times, depending on what area is covering them.
Myself, my son and DIL all live in the same town and attend the same GP surgery but each has been vaccinated at a different centre.0 -
@gemmajenkins0208 You don't have to wait for an invitation - just go to https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/ and book your own.gemmajenkins0208 said:I haven't had any doses yet.

With the first jab, I was keeping an eye on announcements about my age group, so booked as soon as it opened up. I got an invitation letter and text about a week later, so there was obviously a bit of a delay in sending large numbers out.
I hadn't had anything saying I could move my 2nd jab forward but having seen the news announcements about shortening the gap again, I went online, cancelled by 2nd appointment and re-booked for 4 weeks earlier. (and got my second jab this morning

I am trying to find out what the correct recommended "best-practice" gap is between doses. The online sources seem to be inconsistent and I don't think this is a question I should be bothering a valuable and stretched service to ask.
First jab 21 April, so 12 weeks is 14 July.
BUT text 9 June saying to book 2nd jab now, yet when I then log on to book, it pops up "Your second vaccine should be approximately 12 weeks after your first"
Do I just go ahead and book now, on the basis I received the text? OR is it better to wait another 3 weeks?0 -
I volunteer at a vaccine centre and the recommended time is now 8 weeks.1

Advice changed. Defence against the delta variant is significantly higher after 2 doses, so the recommended 11-14 weeks has been shortened to 8 weeks. Book as soon as the system will let you.Grumpy_chap said:I am trying to find out what the correct recommended "best-practice" gap is between doses. Indeed - without delta 12 weeks would still be the "recommended" gapsilvercar said:

With delta being the dominant strain 8 weeks is now recommended due to the increased transmission rates when compared to the previous variants0 -
