The government says that 2.6 million doses to 2.3 million people
This implies that 300,000 have had two doses

Well no, because you wouldn’t say they were given to people then.  

It will mean people who have second doses, lots have, and lots of clinicians were planning to carry on giving second doses at 3/4 weeks until the government banned them from doing so.

See your point  yes there are definitely people getting second doses that were already booked in and it made no sense or was difficult to cancel/rearrange, I would imagine this will drop off quite quickly unless some clinicians are just ignoring the advice.

I took my parents for their 2nd jab on weds when we got there the steward on the gate asked if it was for the covid booster so I think everyone there that day where getting the 2nd jab

They can’t now, it’s no longer just advice it’s mandatory to delay to 12 weeks. ☹️

I really hope we aren’t just wasting precious vaccine by giving it in an untested way like this.

I know of a couple of people who have just received their second dose.

Maybe just anecdotal. My mother's 2nd jab was scheduled for tomorrow and she had a phone call today cancelling it. Her friend (same practice) had her 2nd jab last Friday.

Well, I have either had two doses, or no doses, but I don't know which.
