Who"s had two doses of vaccine?

An instruction does not reality make -- or something.
I can more or less guarantee that some doses are wasted and/or binned, it's inevitable. But in the grand scheme of things as long as the quantity is relatively small -- who cares.
Anyone who suggests/states that absolutely NONE is wasted, frankly is lying2 -
There was a rumour (on social media I think) that instructions had been given to throw away vaccine rather than give it to the "wrong" group. Sounds ludicrous, but for years fishermen had to throw dead fish back into the sea rather than exceed quota. The minister concerned said that is not happening, per my earlier post. That will no doubt increase those hanging around vaccine centres at the end of the day on the off chance they will get lucky, but the centres have a list of alternates on speed dial.JamoLew said:An instruction does not reality make -- or something.

To counter the 'wasted' vaccines argument, I saw a report saying they are getting more than they expected out of a vial.
Vials with 5 doses are providing 6 and those with 10 are providing 11.0 -
I think the minister was very clever with his words (as most politicians are)Jeremy535897 said:

We have instructed the NHS not to waste any doses isn't the same as the NHS isn't wasting any doses - which he knows full well and why he chose to answer how he did0 -
I think they should have a reserve list (maybe they do?). If they realise on a given day that they will have vaccine left over then they call the reserve list. I know if I was called I could get to either of my closest centres within 30 minutes. Be a shame to waste doses because people fail to show up.0

The minister explained that they have local care homes on speed dial so that they don't have to waste vaccine. I have no doubt that some vaccine will be wasted, from being dropped on the floor to forgotten about in a cupboard. The issue was whether there was an instruction in the NHS to throw vaccine away rather than give it to the wrong people, and the minister confirmed that the instruction was to ensure no vaccine was wasted.0

With over 100 million doses, there will no doubt be many bizarre things that happen to the odd vial.Morrigan_2020 said:I can guarantee you that no vaccine will get forgotten about in a cupboard!!0 -
It has already been reported they do have a list they call on at short notice. That of course, will depend where the centre is.
On another forum I ma on someone has reported that her and her sister got a call at 4.30 pm yesterday to ask if they could be at he centre for 5 p.m.
She said they have never moved so fast but got there and got their first vaccine.
So, they are calling in people who happen to be in the right place at the right time.

It’s stored in the freezer then the fridge and treated as a controlled drug for tracking purposes, there’s no reason why any vial would ever by put in a cupboard!Jeremy535897 said:
