Have been trying to today - The full app went in on 15 Sept

  • @Stella76 I would try your hardest to get in touch with them as there might be an error somewhere.
Has the house been valued yet? As I know a lot of people who applied in September have already had their valuations done.
  • Our timeline for ref for others because I found them helpful-

    14/09- offer accepted
    15/09- app sent via broker
20/09- valuation done ( still don’t know outcome)
    30/09- payslips ticked on tracker

nothing since! Broker just said due to high demand NatWest are really busy so could take up to 5 weeks!
Dodnt think it would take this long - 3 weeks today but feels like forever!

@ashleighflint - it's a remortgage - it says a valuation has been instructed but I haven't been contacted by anyone. Would I be though if it was a desktop val?

  • @Stella76 I’m unsure, your best contacting NatWest as I think there might be a error somewhere

Morning all, I am a new poster, so please bear with me!
My husband and I have recently applied for an "unencumbered" mortgage with NatWest (We own our house outright, and are looking to raise funds via a mortgage). We have applied via broker.
    My timeline so far:-
27th Sept - Application submitted (by our broker)
27th Sept - Notification from ClearScore that a hard search by NatWest "will be added to your October report"
28th Sept - Text from Legal and General asking us to make an appointment for a valuation
30th Sept - Valuation completed (physical, came to the house)
4th October - Broker confirms valuation report received by NatWest with no issues. Says there will be an update from NatWest by 12th October.

This is a very straightforward application. Both full time employed, with no issues over salary. Extremely low LTV (less than 15%) Fair/Good credit score with no late payments, defaults etc.

Strange thing has happened with the credit check (another poster earlier this week says this happened to her) - I got a notification from Clear Score, via the app, that a hard search by NatWest will be added to my October report. It shows it was done on 27th Sept (day application was submitted).  However, last night, I got a notification that my "new score" was available (which incidentally has gone up!) but the notification (in the upcoming changes section) about the hard search, has disappeared. It does not show in the Searches section either. In addition to this, a soft search by NatWest shows on the Credit Karma app, and on the Totally Money app too. Not sure if this is how it works (in terms of the hard search not being visible at the moment) and I am assuming that when my report does update for October (via Clear Score) that the hard search will show up then. Anyone else had this happen to them?  And what about time lines?  My broker says I will have an update by 12th October, yet I have seen other posters state they applied early Sept, and have been told no updates until late October?!  I know every case is different, it's just so hard having to wait, and I tend to worry about every little thing!!

This happened to me, the hard search got removed but still shows on my partners ClearScore. Can I ask who the lead applicant was on yours? Because I’m think my partner was the main on and I was second on the mortgage application. Don’t no if this makes a difference.

Also I think ours is going to take longer as my partner is self employed and I’m employed. I have heard somewhere it takes longer for them to underwrite the self employed.

I’m sick of waiting and it’s only 3 weeks on Tuesday.

I think I am the lead applicant?  I am not sure if the hard search is still showing on my husband's Clear Score, but I know he got the same alert that I did. I am thinking it will just show up as a hard search, in the searches section, when my report actually updates for October.  I know clear score "update weekly" with your actual score, but I think the actual report itself only updates once a month.

I know what you mean about being sick of waiting - mine is only a week since application, and I am already obsessing over it!! I think all the hoo-ha over the last week or so around rates hasn't helped matters, so I guess we are just going to have to be patient!

I'm getting worried now that mine hasn't disappeared! (oh the things we worry about). I've had a hard search on my ClearScore since the day they did it, the 5th September, and it's still there. With everyone else's vanishing this is making me think the worst.

This is an entire new application for us, but we're not classed as FTB's because we both previously owned separate properties before we got together that have been long sold, so despite not currently owning anything (we're renting together) and having to go through the same process as FTB's we're 'home movers' and the entire process has to be gone through.

I'm employed my partner self employed, we've been told by our broker the 11th October is the earliest we'll likely get a response, this has been going on for weeks now and my nerves are absolutely shot.

honestly I wouldn’t worry that it hasn’t been removed, I’m more concerned as it’s like it’s never been done, as it’s not showing anywhere. I’ve signed up to all credit reports and honestly it’s no where.

We’re also home movers currently renting, and the same partners self employed. I just wish one of us would start getting some progress but looks like that’s not going to be till next week. Honestly going out my mind with it all. Not heard of our mortgage broker since the 26th sep and don’t even want to email her as she said wait till the 17th.
