I've been watching this thread with interest, so thought I'd add my experience to help anyone else who may be looking to get a mortgage with Natwest.
Husband is employed, I'm self employed with just 1 year of accounts. Used a broker.
20/4 - AIP with different lender but rate went up before we decided to proceed with the sale/purchase... which led to...
26/4 - Full application with NatWest.
4/5 - NatWest asked about 4 different payments on our statements (regular payments via gocardless for daughter's swim club subs, bill payments to driving instructor for son, bp to a friend who did a painting for us and a transfer to my hairdresser who doesn't take card payments). Raised the blood pressure a bit as we felt under heavy scrutiny!
5/5 asked to provide April pay slip for husband (presumably due to changes to do with national insurance?)
9/9 Valuation carried out (new build property which is fully built)
11/9 Mortgage offer received
I hope that his helpful to anyone in a similar position and I hope those who have been waiting a while get answers really soon.1 -
Not so good news after all.Rung NatWest and product declined due to Ewc cert, wud take to long to explain. So now have to get some sort of substitute sorted. Just cried down the phone in frustration to someone at the Brokers place. I will never go with a big company ever again it’s been me doing all the work0
