I've been watching this thread with interest, so thought I'd add my experience to help anyone else who may be looking to get a mortgage with Natwest.

Husband is employed, I'm self employed with just 1 year of accounts. Used a broker.

20/4 - AIP with different lender but rate went up before we decided to proceed with the sale/purchase... which led to...
26/4 - Full application with NatWest.
4/5 - NatWest asked about 4 different payments on our statements (regular payments via gocardless for daughter's swim club subs, bill payments to driving instructor for son, bp to a friend who did a painting for us and a transfer to my hairdresser who doesn't take card payments). Raised the blood pressure a bit as we felt under heavy scrutiny!
5/5 asked to provide April pay slip for husband (presumably due to changes to do with national insurance?)
9/9 Valuation carried out (new build property which is fully built)
    11/9 Mortgage offer received

I hope that his helpful to anyone in a similar position and I hope those who have been waiting a while get answers really soon.

Not so good news after all.
Rung NatWest and product declined due to Ewc cert, wud take to long to explain. So now have to get some sort of substitute sorted. Just cried down the phone in frustration to someone at the Brokers place.  I will never go with a big company ever again it’s been me doing all the work

    My experience so far:)

Divorced, self employed FTB, NatWest is my main bank, 20% deposit

11/4 - full application submitted through MB
11/4 - Phone call from NatWest personal banker to apply directly
    12/4 - property valuation scheduled for 19/4
    14/4 - MB requested SA100 & SA103 for 2021/2022

All boxes are ticked and reviewed. Underwriter requested couple more things which was sorted by my accountant immediately.
NatWest is happy to issue offer now. Hopefully won’t be long 🙂

That is so frustrating!!! Have the brokers taken any responsibility? Is it something that can get sorted?

Fingers crossed for tomorrow. I was ringing NatWest daily come the end. FYI, NatWest had emailed broker at 8.10am on the morning saying we had been approved and offer follow, she emailed me just after but it didn’t update on tracker until 4pm. I then received an email at 10pm with the loan offer.
