Hi new member here just applied via NatWest so a bit of advice for my anxiety would be great 😊
    ftb
    10% deposit
    applied via broker
4th of may aip and full application submitted

5th hard search done and gift deposit letter requested and sent same day

10th vendor receives call from NatWest to arrange walk round  survey booked for tomorrow

can anyone advise if this is the final stage before a full offer is received? I know it’s only 8 days since we applied but It’s felt like 8 years and I’m so worried all my hopes will be dashed at this stage 🤞 any words of comfort would be welcome 🙏

Not so good news after all.
Rung NatWest and product declined due to Ewc cert, wud take to long to explain. So now have to get some sort of substitute sorted. Just cried down the phone in frustration to someone at the Brokers place.  I will never go with a big company ever again it’s been me doing all the work
Gutted for you! You’ve waited so long! I’m waiting on a certificate.. 15 March my hard search it’s draining isn’t it! I hope you get sorted somewhere else X good luck

Keep checking your NatWest mortgage tracker but I have to warn you underwriting takes ages. Valuation, reviewing payslips/SA forms, re uploading ID, in my case my bank statements needed to be re uploaded, additional documents if self-employed.

Unfortunately the competitive deals NatWest have been offering means they are currently a victim of their own success and stuggling to keep ontop of demand

NatWest told me I need to get a predicted Energy rating cert from the developer. I’ve contacted the developer and asked for one but no response yet.

My mortgage broker emailed to say he didn’t no what they were talking about but would try and get to the bottom of it. I’ve absolutely no faith in him at all and no doubt it will be me who does all the work to get it over the line.

I asked the brokers company how cud they not know this would have been asked for……when selecting a green mortgage. no real response satisfactory response.

I genuinely hope no one else has to wait the length of time I have or make as many phone calls.

Tbf to Nat west it’s not been any failings than their part other than extremely slow timelines.   The issues have all been down to the valuer not booking it in and the broker not doing his job.

I don’t think any more documentation will be needed …. We went through a broker and we spent just shy of 3 hours going through 3 months bank statements 3 months wage slips uploaded and check my file uploaded before we submitted the application so I’m sure they would have checked all this prior to valuation instruction?

Our survey was completed and report received on the 19th April. The valuation was checked off on the tracker before they even looked at documents (in my case). More documents (re upload of bank statements due to error on their system and ID) were then additionally requested and we finally received approval May 11th. Although this is definitely not as long as some people have been waiting and ours took slightly longer I believe because my husband is self-employed.

Some seem to be going super quick and some taking a while but as my mortgage broker said this isn’t necessarily a reflection on your mortgage application, just generally how the market etc is.

Fingers crossed it is not too long for you.

Is this something they can get for you? And so frustrating that you are doing all the hard work!! Is this the only thing holding it up? So frustrating how long you have waited :( and that your brokers didn’t sort this in the first instance 😢

We applied through a broker as well, fyi. I think if everything is straight forward, they are a lot quicker.

My offer was really quick after valuation although valuation took 10 days - conveyancers are seemingly taking forever though x
