  • @Camboudica Oh no! So more time to review! At least you can relax a bit knowing this!
We also wouldn’t be able to afford this as no savings.

It's due to my partner being self employed basically. He had very serious accident in 2020 where he ended up on life support for 2 months in hospital, he luckily survived, but it took him a year to get back to normal. He did go back to work quite quickly, but at first for half days, building himself up until he was better again. This has all had an impact on his income, and so they have reviewed his accounts and seen that year was not great income wise so have got a bit jittery. I'm sure you guys will be fine. It's a bit of a 'one off' situation really. We need to stump up a few more grand as a result, which we have, they just want to be sure we haven't gone and gambled it all in Vegas in the last month I'm assuming. Just so frustrating.
  • So sorry to hear that! At least you have the extra that you need and it’s not caused a problem for you!
  • @LittleGem, I know, I do appreciate that we are fortunate enough to be able to cover the shortfall, although it is meant to be my decorating money! Oh well, skanky carpets for a while longer then.
  • We’ve had an update from the broker. Apparently NatWest left a message saying they are happy with everything but requesting my husbands tax year overviews (pretty sure we sent these to the broker 3 weeks ago 🤷🏼‍♀️). Broker reassuring me that it’s a box ticking exercise but I can’t tell if this is a good update or not? Will we end up back at the bottom of the queue again now?!

Ok so turns out it’s something different to the SA100s that we sent before! Anyone else whose self employed been asked for their Tax Year Overview?
  • @LittleGem, yes we did. You need to ask your accountant, or if you don't have one, it's just the confirmation from HMRC that shows the tax return was submitted and how much it was. Its just 1 page with the tax return date and the amount.
  • I have received my offer! Came through just before 5:30pm this evening.
  • @andyb2210, congratulations. 👍
