Sorry if this is threadjacking....
I applied for a NatWest mortgage last week, but haven't received any emails re AIP nor the mortgage itself
Is that normal?
I have just called them and they cannot find our application on their system, we did receive an email to say the online application was submitted.
Hoping its just because they're so busy and they haven't processed ours yet.

My mortgage broker has just contacted me and said she rang for an update this morning and now has been told there won’t be an update till the 21st October. Was originally 17th but they’re so busy and trying to get through the back log. Going to be the longest week and a bit!0

I had a small update this morning confirming they have received the valuation and assessing it. I actually already live in the property I am purchasing, so was here when he came to value it. I was following him around trying to see his clipboard 🤣0

The top of the chain are really keen to complete before 12th December, it sounds far away now but the way everything is going I don’t want to be the ones holding it up because we haven’t got our mortgage offer yet!!0

Still waiting here, I’ve been told an update by the end of the week which would be 30 working days from application….. the waiting is excruciating0

26 working days after our application was submitted and we finally have our offer - phew!1

So, I knew this would happen (just our luck!) they called our broker yesterday and said they'd be willing to offer, but slightly lower than they first indicated, which the broker said is not unusual, and luckily it isn't a problem as we have more savings, so we said OK and they came back saying we would need to prove (again) that we still have the savings and we haven't gone and spent it in the last 6 weeks since we gave them the initial statements (seriously, who would do that?), so it was all sent over again yesterday afternoon and now the tracker is back to "we are reviewing the information". God knows how long it will take now.
Our broker has assured us we have the offer, albeit verbally, and they just want to check our savings cover the deposit needed before the written offer is issued, but it's still so worrying, and it's taken so long to get this far it's typical that something would throw a spanner in the works and drag it out even further.0 -
@Camboudica oh wow! That’s frustrating! How much under was it compared to what you applied for? This is one of my fears as we don’t have the savings if this happens to us!!0
