I too know of trouble with Talktalk. A friend has been without broadband for over a week already. I'm 99% sure it's a line or exchange fault, but they blame everything they can, that doesn't relate to them!
Support = garbage!0 -
Hi,
Sorry I just dont get all this computer stuff. But I too have our modem was apearing to do everything right but we could not log onto the internet and did not understand why, its turned out that the router/modem thing needed to have a softwear download.

Might help somebody anyway!Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!0 -
We've had the Talktalk International 3 package for 18 months now - 17 of which have been trouble free.
The last month, since they installed their equipment in the exchange, they call it Local Loop Unbundling, I have only been able to connect to T'inter at silly o'clock in the morning - not very convenient for someone who loves her kip!
Anyone had similar issues with them?
BT are the only providers who can help us out as none of the other telephony service providers recognise us until we're back with BT! What a con!
:mad:
Stunning i too had nothing but praise for TT for 17 months then i got a so called upgrade.... i am out of contract now and so fed up with talking to foreign call centres trying to explain the problems.0 -

Two points:
Yes, the e-mails don't always go on the first try. I usually leave Outlook running, and sometimes it'll flash up a prompt saying it couldn't located folders on the server (I use IMAP), but just give it a few mins and try again and it will work.
Which modem are you using? One of my lines uses a Linksys ADSL2MUE and often it'll show as connected, but I can't get any internet traffic. A power cycle of the modem helps sort this out. The other line uses the TalkTalk SmartAX modem and is solid as a rock. Could be your modem having problems, as I know some of the older ones occasionally have trouble maintaining the connection at higher speeds for more than a few days.
