LOL I was looking at those today! They are really cute, but instore they weren't marked down to £3, if I'd have known they were that cheap I'd have picked them up!!

Managed to find some flannels while I was waiting for the OH, in Roseby's and they had more colours than Asda did :j I now have 5 reindeer sat here all with frankincense and myrrh soap in for next year ;)

  • Hi Everyone - just trying to get the hang of posting - so please bear with me. :o

You’re all sooo clever and talented.

I ordered some of the flannel cakes pictured, from Deal Extreme, before Christmas to see what they were like and they arrived today. They’re okay quite sweet – but nowhere near as nice as the ones being made on here!

The flannel seems to be the stretchy kind and the packaging was really squashed.
But just to say that on the swiss roll they’ve used a piece of white fleecy material inside for the filling so that it’s not bulky.

I’m waiting for my muffin cases from eBay – (I too didn’t spot the Malaysia bit) – so it’s been 3 weeks now.

But I thought I’d let you know a thought I had.

I’m going to make up some strawberry sticky labels on Vistaprint (by editing the return address ones) and put them onto my finished articles to make them look more realistic. I have no idea how to add a pic, but here goes ...

You get 140 for £2 – slightly overkill I know, but I’m sure I can divide them up and share if anyone would like some.
I didn't expect to get anything done today - and so far I haven't been disappointed.

Nice one princess, it's just given me the idea to add some potpourri that matches the flavour of the towel cake so that when it's opened up it'll smell like it should taste e.g vanilla, chocolate, apple, cherry etc etc, guess you could also add essential oils etc :confused:

you know you were looking for strawberries
for the cakes well I noticed these apples
    each one on bendy wire.

    5fd0_1.jpg

    and then remembered
there is a wholesaler here that sells these
    bunches mainly the floral type
but they do fruit in them as well
something like this would be ideal for
the cakes. If there is anything I will let you all know

What about trying the wholesalers that the florists use, I have heard of one local to me (Glasgow) that lets the general public in, but then you might have to buy them in bulk - nothing tried, nothing gained, they can only say no.

What do you think of these bouquets? I would like to try a similar 'gardening' bouquet for my Mum's birthday in March. I also have my SIL's birthday coming up in February and I've already bought her a pair of pyjamas for a fiver in the sales. Pyjama cakes, here we come!

3 weeks to wait for the cases!!! Oh no, don't know if I can wait that long
The stickers are marvellous.. That is exactly what I mean. I will have to get this printer fixed asap.

Do you have a link from Deal Extreme? So what kind of cakes did you get? you said Swiss roll. Did it come in a box or just cellophane?
