What do you think of these bouquets? I would like to try a similar 'gardening' bouquet for my Mum's birthday in March. I also have my SIL's birthday coming up in February and I've already bought her a pair of pyjamas for a fiver in the sales. Pyjama cakes, here we come!

    Those gift bouquets are great!

Im so impressed with what can be created with towels, flannels etc!

I know this is not right thread but seeing as you are all so crafty!!!
I have bought some moulds for chocolate etc for hampers and was wondering if anyone had any luck in making mini soaps? Are they easy to do?
  • I've just been reading through this whole thread. Well done everyone!:T

This is brilliant - I might even have a go myself :rotfl:. Maybe for Easter as that gives me a wee while to practice. I wonder if you can make the sock roses with thin adult socks?

Hi Everyone - just trying to get the hang of posting - so please bear with me. :o

You’re all sooo clever and talented.

I ordered some of the flannel cakes pictured, from Deal Extreme, before Christmas to see what they were like and they arrived today. They’re okay quite sweet – but nowhere near as nice as the ones being made on here!

The flannel seems to be the stretchy kind and the packaging was really squashed.
But just to say that on the swiss roll they’ve used a piece of white fleecy material inside for the filling so that it’s not bulky.

I’m waiting for my muffin cases from eBay – (I too didn’t spot the Malaysia bit) – so it’s been 3 weeks now.

But I thought I’d let you know a thought I had.

I’m going to make up some strawberry sticky labels on Vistaprint (by editing the return address ones) and put them onto my finished articles to make them look more realistic. I have no idea how to add a pic, but here goes ...

You get 140 for £2 – slightly overkill I know, but I’m sure I can divide them up and share if anyone would like some.

I have been wondering what they
would be like on Deal Extreme.the
only reason I never ordered any was
because it was a week before Christmas
when I found out about them on one of the
threads and thought they might not arrive in
time for christmas and thats what gave me
the idea to have a go myself.

Those muffin cases it might be an idea to
ask the seller about them because mine
    arrived in about a week.

is there any chance you could post a pic of your
    cakes you recieved.

3 weeks to wait for the cases!!! Oh no, don't know if I can wait that long
The stickers are marvellous.. That is exactly what I mean. I will have to get this printer fixed asap.

Do you have a link from Deal Extreme? So what kind of cakes did you get? you said Swiss roll. Did it come in a box or just cellophane?

    Hi 'MOT' :hello:

Mmmm - it's been a while for the cases, but I am convinced that they will be the making of the packaging so I'm happy to wait. I would imagine when websites or sellers are highlighted on here their stock evaporates pretty quickly.

For the Vistaprint labels there are 18 stickers per sheet and about 7 sheets per £2. If I'm ordering them anyway I'm happy to share them in the spirit of MSE. Do you PM each other for sharing? If so then please do.

The link for Deal Extreme is http://www.dealextreme.com/search.dx/search.cake

I had the strawberry cake and the Swiss roll portion. Although I think you get what's available. If they had been packed well then they would have been fine. The cake came in one of those long clear cello bags sitting on a little round tray. The Swiss roll came in one of those square clear boxes. Exactly like on the website you've so helpfully flagged up.

I meant to thank you for the Easter box link. It made my day.
Don't know what that says about my day. :rotfl:

The cakes look exactly like they do on the website. They're 'petite' and look good, but for a useful and practical present for someone - I'd make my own - all credit to Deal Extreme though - the postage is free and if I remember right, they take Paypal! Yay!
I didn't expect to get anything done today - and so far I haven't been disappointed.

had a go at making a label
or at least my son helped
to do the bits I could not
    understand which was mainly
all of it.I have put them in
    in different sizes.Its the
pic of the strawberries I like
best and of course in the tradition
of wanting to try and print one of these
my printers just started playing up
but as I have hassled my lot loads tonight
I will ask them tomorrow to sort it out.

I thought those cakes were good value
at the time because everything included
the postage. Will have a little look round
the site to see what else they do.

I will be quite happy to pay for your labels! Rosekitten, your design looks great, It would look very professional to tuck one of these beside the little cakes!!! Moneyformummy, if you are ordering the labels I am happy to share but I don't have Vista, would those labels only work with Vista Programme?

I hope the cases come soon, I can't wait to get started..
(bought 3 dark red flannels in Asda this morning  have to have my daily fix)

MFM what was the decoration like on the cakes from dealextreme? Plastic cherry/strawberry?
Going to phone craft shop now...
