@2Scratters and @Naomim thank you nice to be here.
I've been thinking about this, I might Tilly tidy my shopping account weekly, it won't be much but it will be something and its the only account I have that is solely for one thing. Kinda interesting to see what it amounts up to.*Stop giving up what you really want for what you want now*
*Face your fear, don't do what's easy, do what is right, fight for it because it will be worth it*

So long as it works for you and your own circumstances it will mean it becomes a sustainable habit. Anything too complicated or difficult to work round means it will be doomed to failure. We all want this way of saving to become second-nature and if we put obstacles in the way there's no chance of it becoming ingrained in our everyday lifeNew Challenge: Tilly Tidy as much as possible in 2022. My last week's tidying resulted in £19.64 being added, making £83.82 for November so far and £1175.83 for the year. Things seem to be slowing down a bit as the month nears its end. I still need just under £25 more to have reached my self-set target of £1200 for the year. When I set myself that challenge at the start of the year I thought I was being totally unrealistic and it couldn't possibly be done. Just goes to show how sticking to a 'little and often' approach really can work.
Good luck, everyone. Kee-eeeeeeeep saving!New Challenge: Tilly Tidy as much as possible in 2022. Running total to 26 Feb: £183.77

Morning Peeps,
well I have tilly tidied the monthly budget for food shopping. It goes into a cash stash had about £12 left. The cash stash came about last year of not spending the same, this was where we bought our previously out of reach coffee machine as a reward.
My tilly tidy ways have now developed into more opportunity to be able save more and in a better interest regular saver account.
The other week DH had asked for some pennies for his bike service (I've always managed the funds) I reminded him to check on his Tilly Tally savings - he was very pleased to see he had managed to save enough to pay his own bill. Result!!
Stay safe and TT

Final November tidy. £22.38 added in about the past 10 days, things seem to dry up as the month goes on!
Managed £106.20 for November and £1198.21 for the year so far. I'm within a whisker of my original target of £1200 for the year and as most of my Direct Debits go out on the 1st ((today) there should be something to tidy to start December off in the right direction.
Good luck, everyone, for the rest of the year. We're on the final straight now, the tape is in sight!New Challenge: Tilly Tidy as much as possible in 2022. Running total to 26 Feb: £183.77

I haven't done too well at this so far, I underestimated my shopping budget so there wasnt anythjng left to tidy, maybe next week will be better.*Stop giving up what you really want for what you want now*

My monthly rounding pot is at £4.78 so will shortly be working it's way to my Barclaycard. I'm not sure how much I tidied this year. I got a bit lost with it all for a few months, then managed to kick myself up the bottom and crack on again. I think it's probably around £50 - £60 which isn't loads but it's money that would have disappeared down a black hole instead of going on overpayments.Credit Cards NOV 2019 £33,220.42 Sept 2023 £19,951.00 Tilly Tidy 20223/COLOR] Sept £43.71 Here's my diary: A Ditherer's Diary Again2 -

It's absolutely true, all the little amounts that we are all now squirrelling away would definitely just have 'disappeared' as if by magic. A big life-lesson learned by me since doing this challenge,.
First tidy of December, not many to go now before the final reckoning.
Managed to tidy £21.81 since 1st December but this is usually my 'big' week for tidying as most of my Direct Debits go out then and there are several small amounts to round up/down (I never know what to call it!) in the first week.
Year's total now stands at £1220.02 so I managed to beat my target and I'm over the moon. Back in January I never thought it would be possible and certainly never imagined that I could stick to the challenge. I thought it would be like my usual New Year Resolutions, broken by the start of February!
Keep at it, everyone. This time of year is notoriously bad for saving but the end is in sight and every little helps as they say.New Challenge: Tilly Tidy as much as possible in 2022. Running total to 26 Feb: £183.77
