Happy October everyone.
Not much saved this month so far, only £36.12 for the first 10 days of the month so I'm hoping things pick up a bit as the start of each month is usually where most of my savings are made thanks to a lot of direct debits going out on the 1st.. At least I've cracked the £1000 target that I set myself at the start of the year and will keep plodding on towards the £1200+ target (averaging £100+ a month) that I have now.

Aaah well done on cracking £1000 Fidelia! And Jade, good luck
I think I'm only on a few pounds so far this month; it'll be slow for the rest of the year as I hit the no pay stage of mat leave...there's always next year though, and then I'll have a target to beat
Pushing the pennies around to try and make pounds...

I hope you're all having an enjoyable weekend. I had my Flu jab AND my Covid Booster jab yesterday. No after effect from the Flu one but the site of the Covid Booster needle in the other arm is really sore and that arm is really stiff today. No problem, I know it's just a common injection side-effect but I don't usually get them. Shouldn't grumble, I'm just so grateful to have been 'jabbed' in good time for whatever the winter throws at us.
Anyway, enough waffling! Managed to tidy £19.32 this past week so October's total is now £102.01 and the year to date stands at £1074.45New Challenge: Tilly Tidy as much as possible in 2022. Running total to 26 Feb: £183.77

Morning Peeps,
Happy November.
Not sure how I did last month accurately as I moved mine and Hubby a bank account to another to get some free money (as 1 does). I did have a grown ups wage (I am part time) as have done a lot of extra shifts. There was a chunk left over at month end and have shifted that side ways back into a pot of savings to round up. Even hubby is putting money away each time he is logging onto his app. He has never really saved of his own accord.
Has anyone else found covid a benefit to re-evaluating what we spend/waste our money on?
We have climbed out of years of manageable debt (I do consider ourselves to have been fortunate)
it did take a long time but did find MSE over 15years ago which helped educate me. (Eternally grateful too)
Making small steps in the reduction of any debt is to be commended, as we did not accrue this debt overnight. These small Tilly Tidies really do work so do not get disheartened, keep going. I got to the point of putting in very small amounts and began to realise I had not missed that money but could see it starting to build up. I was never ashamed then nor am I now of picking up change off the floor, we still do this now give a gift to each other and then we save it.
Stay Safe

I'm a big believer in picking up coins I see on the floor too. I bet most of us MSE'ers are! Ours go into a big bottle for an end of year or holiday treat.Credit Cards NOV 2019 £33,220.42 Sept 2023 £19,951.00 Tilly Tidy 20223/COLOR] Sept £43.71 Here's my diary: A Ditherer's Diary Again1
