This week's additions have been very hard to come by. Maybe there'll be a last minute flourish next week but I'm not holding my breath.
Transferred a measly £9.93 since last weekend's update making £75.58 for July so far and a running total of £686.30 for the year. Must do better!

Last gasp tidy for July. Bit disappointed with this month's tally but as I've been trying to spend as little as possible I've had very few money oddments to tidy from my current account, apart from the usual direct debits. Can't win both ways I suppose.
Added a further £17.79 this week, making £93.37 for the month and a running total of £704.09 for the year. Averaging out at around £100 (and a penny!) each month so should definitely crack my target of £1000+ for the year but now I've started this type of saving I'm mad keen to do better than that. Tilly Tidying is definitely something I hope to stick with for the rest of my life. Just wish I'd discovered it/heard of it sooner.
Wishing all savers who are still with us a successful August :gl Bring it on!

Evening Peeps,
I will endeavour to put more into logging my tilly bits (or scraps as I call them). I have a friend who is not good with money even in her mature years. Myself and another friend are trying to support her out of the mess she is in. Doing Tilly bits is the way to get going by just moving small amounts each time some money is saved.

Rotten July - £16.35 in the end
Though if I manage to save about £30 each month it'll bring me to £1000 by the end of the year, which seems doable! I do enjoy pottering around with money.
Still attempting to buy a house, really hoping we hear by the end of this week...then I'm sure after the initial outlay the tidying'll stack up after I start buying things to decorate...
Hope all your weeks go wellPushing the pennies around to try and make pounds...

We keep being told 'every little helps' and it really does so don't beat yourself up about not managing to save much in July, Starla. House-buying is a major life-change and is bound to be the main focus for you at the moment. Good luck with it, I hope it all goes through without hassle xxx

End of first week of August. Well, almost the end but I know nothing else will be available to tidy this week.
Started off the month better than I expected, transferred £40.98 which takes my running total for the year to £745.07.

Managed to transfer £19.46 this past week and even that was a struggle. It takes August total so far to £60.44 and year's total to £764.53. No other spends due before Monday and my online bank account won't be updated until then anyway.

Another week of scrimping over! As the year seems to be speeding up towards its end I'm pulling out all the stops to tidy every single penny. I'm becoming obsessed! Should get out more
Managed to save £58.73 this past week but have had all sorts of issues with a refund so think I may have tidied something twice. It can stay where it is in my savings pot though. August total now £119.17 with £823.26 for the year.
Best of luck, all, for the rest of August
Starla. I hope it was good news on your house buying. Keep us posted.

I had been scratting in my DH business bank account over the probably last 3 years. Each time I logged on always tidied down. It was there just in case. He is now to retire early at the end of September due to ill health. I have moved the money(only £500) to his savings account as he is likely to need this as its 4yrs before state pension can be drawn. Not sure how we are going to manage but I'm sure we will.
