Change of plan for lunch today! Forgot it was Friday and my sister would ring - she always rings just before lunch; it's annoying but it's the most convenient time for her because she needs a nap every afternoon! Can't see me ever getting to that stage but she's been doing it since she got to about 60 or so.
So lunch today was jacket potato; tuna mayo and salad so just 1 syn for 2 Tbs of LTL mayo.

Did my pitta bread like a quesadilla today to see if it would work....a black bean, red onion, sweetcorn with cajun spice mix put into a split open pitta bread and HEA of cheese.
Put it in the frying pan and fried both sides to crisp it up and melt the cheese...it was yum!
Just have to be a bit careful when turning that the filling doesn't fall out, but will be doing this as a 'quesadilla' from now on1 -
Could someone please tell me what the syn values are for the Aldi rice pouches?
Wholemeal, basmati and pilau?0 -
Frankie - syn values per 250g pouch:
Wholemeal 2.5
Basmati 2
Pilau 1
I'm quite surprised by these values - I would have expected the Pilau to have been higher than the others not lower but that's what it says on the Planner.

You're late having your tea bubbs. 😉
I always line the tray with foil. Wasteful I suppose but saves washing up.
If you like Golden vegetable rice Frankie , try the dried one from Aldi. It takes about 15 minutes in the microwave IIRC. It's syn free. I batch cook my own pilau and brown rice and freeze it in portions. That's syn free too. I suppose it depends what you want to use your syns for. 🤔1 -
Maman i had tea about 5.15 just didn't post it earlier 😂

Morning all. Looks like it's going to be a lovely one; really bright and a little windy but not too bad. Won't be doing any washing though as DH has his age 70+ medical to keep his C1 licence so that he'll be able to carry on driving the motorhome. Can't think of any reason why he would fail but if the worst happens then we have a couple of months to get rid of it and find a lighter weight one to drive on a normal licence.
I bought some baking parchment a little while ago for lining the baking sheets and then forgot to use it! It's still sitting in the cupboard unopened! Fortunately the KFC coating didn't stick.
I've bought some mini loaf tins as I've decided when I cook the American meatloaf again I'm going to do individual ones (they're Syn Free so can have more than one if we want!) and then it'll be easier to freeze them for another meal. The recipe I use is for making mini ones anyway but didn't want to buy a new tray for the first time I tried the recipe in case we didn't like it.
Right, today's food:
B - fry up - Linda McCartney red onion and rosemary sausages; egg; mushrooms, tomatoes, beans - P; S; F (DH will be using the high syn Lidl ones!)
L - no idea at the moment but will probably try and get some sort of takeaway while out and about as DH's appointment is 12.20 - couldn't have been a worse time foodwise!
D - oxtail stew (from freezer); mash - P; S; F
HEA - milk
HEB - ? none planned
Syns - weekend wine
