Thanks ruby - that's good to know. DH had his at the same time and he's only had a bit of an achy arm; he's the same with the flu jab whereas my arm is quite painful for a day or so so again completely different reactions.
Definitely just a blip ruby and you're right not to worry about it - it won't make it go away! Our bodies do funny things at times don't they?
The snow has finally all gone from the garden! Instead it's been pouring with rain; has stopped now but we're forecast more later and it's looking like we'll be getting rain every day until the weekend with Saturday being the first dry day! Seems such a long way away.
Today's plan - Green day again:
B - overnight oats; frozen mixed fruit and cherries; Greek yoghurt; skinny syrup - HEB; S; P; F
L - jacket potato; beans; salad - S; F
D - aubergine, chickpea & vegetable curry; rice - P; S; F
S - Ryvita; Primula Light (if needed) - HEA2/HEB2
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - Primula Light?
HEB1 - oats
HEB2 - Ryvita?
Syns - none planned but will probably have something as I'm very low on syns this week with no wine!

Is it sad to be excited about hitting the supermarket tonight after 2 weeks away? I don’t care I am because I have been making do. So this weekend I couldn’t get through due to high winds which caused massive snow drifts. We are on a big melt at the moment which is fab. So started the day well with a dog walk, earphones in, and off we went. Tonight will be quite a big shop but well needed.
Def including the chicken curry and crispy kale on the menu this week.
Made lentil soup with the very last of the veg I had so that is lunch sorted served with boiled eggs. Had no cereal or milk this morning so had a granola slice I found lurking. Probably full of sins but had to have something. So the rest of the week will consist of lots of water. And super good on the diet – im looking forward to it truth be told! And getting the miles in with the dog due to a midler week weather wise
It was a STS week for me too – not surprised!

Morning all,
The A!di roast stuffed turkey joint was nice - 5 syns worth nice, I'm not so sure. DH failed on the roast potatoes and put all of them in goose fat instead of taking a couple and fry lighting them for me. So no roasties, yorkshires or cauli cheese, just turkey, courgette, carrot and sprouts. No gravy either as nobody cba'd to make it. Happy Valentines
This morning I tried something different for breakfast that I saw on face ache at the weekend. Mashed one banana, added to a whisked egg and added 20g of oats and a tsp of sweetener. Fried it in fry light and it made a fluffy pancake. You stalwarts probably do this one all the time, but it was new to me. Tasted okay and filled me up. This leaves me half a HEXB for later, so will probably have 2 x dark rye ryvita and 25g reduced fat philly (2 syns).
So food today:
B - banana/oats/eggy thing - half HEXB, P
L - tuna salad - 1 syn for light mayo, mixed leaves, cherry toms, picked onions (trying to use up from Christmas...)
D - SW carbonara - HEXA parmesan
HEXA - milk
HEXB - 2 x dark rye ryvita
Snacks - satsumas, grapes, apple
Syns - philly (2),
Have a good day all,
Coxy

Hate to say it coxy but mashed banana is 5 syns! You can make sort of American style pancakes using just HEB - it's the same mixture as baked oats! Instead of the mashed banana you use 0% FF Greek yoghurt - oats; yoghurt, eggs, sweetener mixed together (you can whizz the oats to flour consistency if you like as it's a measured amount it's not a tweak!), add spoonfuls to a frying pan until bubbles appear on surface then flip over to cook the other side. Have to say one pancake certainly wouldn't be enough for a breakfast for me! DH and I prefer the baked oats to the pancakes to be honest and they seem to be more filling - I cook them in a silicon muffin pan and get 6 out of 80g oats (2 x HEB) so 3 each. We usually have 2 with fruit and more yoghurt for breakfast and then another mid morning with a cuppa like a cake!

It's not sad to be looking forward to a supermarket shop klew. We have precious little planned in the diary at the moment and it's a good feeling to know you have the right ingredients in for your menu plan. I like being in control. 😊
That gain is probably a direct (and temporary) effect of the big meal ruby. Plod on!!😉
It's milder here too with just a 10% chance of rain. We're definitely going out for a walk this afternoon for the first time in over a week.
There are some weird and wonderful 'rules' for Slimming World coxy. I think they deliberately don't explain them for commercial reasons and they like people to think there's something 'magic' about SW, but I'm a cynic. 😉 Like denise said, it's something to do with the quantity of fruit you eat but also that you're breaking down the fibre with a fork rather than your own digestion. What doesn't make sense though is that while mashed/stewed/whizzed fruit has syns you can do the same with veg and the syns stay the same??? 🤔
The turkey was probably very good value as it was reduced after Christmas but many of the pre-prepared meats can have syns for no really obvious reason. It doesn't apply to everything though as it's possible to buy lamb shanks in sauce which are very low syn.
I've run out of skinny syrup. I didn't have any with my porridge at the weekend but didn't hugely miss it as I had fruit on top. AFAIK, TK Maxx isn't open although they sell some foodstuffs?? I think I'll just go without and see if I really miss it. I did Bolognese in the SC yesterday as I used the last one for the lasagne on Saturday. I need to portion that up for the freezer today. I think I have about 10 syns left but I don't need them for the rest of the week.
Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash (F), HEB toast, HEA1 milk, tomatoes and mushrooms (S)
L- cold meat (P), fried veg and pickles (S)
D- HM burgers (P,S), SW chips (F), garlic mushrooms with HEA2, green stuff, tomatoes (S)
Syns- 02 -
The only skinny syrup which I would buy again is the S'Mores one. The current one, Baileys, has no taste at all! The vanilla one was nice when it was first opened with plenty of taste but it died after it had been opened a couple of weeks and that one was nearly double the price of the others, which I didn't realise when I picked it up - £6.99 instead of the usual £3.99!
Made a mistake about which curry I got out of the freezer! It's still a veggie one but it's a Dhansak with red lentils rather than chickpeas!
The reason I said about the syns in mashed banana is because coxy hasn't been to group and has only recently started SW so best to know that losing the fibre makes a difference with fruit - even though it doesn't for veg! I agree it seems wrong but whilst losing weight I think it's best to know the 'rules'!

Oh I could weep! It's silly mistakes like the 5 syn mashed banana that are derailing me. Thanks for letting me know denise and for the alternative pancake recipes. I really appreciate it

Yes, I just meant to back up what you said about the mashed banana. I really don't see why a fruit smoothie, for example, is any different from liquidising soup for equivalent quantities. But I do sort of get the point that there's sugar in fruit and you couldn't/wouldn't eat that much raw. 🤔0 -
Not sure where time has gone. I lost 1/2 lb on Saturday not much but it’s a packet of lard.😀 I’ve not been tracking my food over the weekend but stayed pretty much on plan. Don’t want to get out of good habits though
Today
breakfast - bacon, egg, beans, tomato and heb toast
dinner - hm chicken and sweet corn soup
tea - steak, jacket and salad
snacks - banana, skinny strawberry bar ( think about 4 1/2 syns - need to check)....... plus a couple of cheeky shortbread biscuits snook in....5 syns each. So that’s my lot for today.
January spends - £587.581 -
Thanks Coxy. When you've been doing SW for a while you'll get used to all the various syn values - it's not easy as there are so many variables! Just keep posting and if you make mistakes we'll let you know or if you think about meals in advance it would be a good idea to ask beforehand if you're not sure about syns. You'll find some good recipes on SlimmingEats, Pinch of Nom and 2 Chubby cubs (once you scroll past all the bumph which can be a bit rude).
Maman the S'Mores was the first bottle I ever got, I won it in a SW raffle! But the consultant bought it at TKMaxx but they've never had it when I've been to buy any! I've had the caramel one too and agree that's another tasteless one! Definitely not buy any more unless I can get the S'Mores one again, I think most of them are a waste of money; I'd rather just use a bit of sweetener if I need some sweetness. I've only ever had the Jordan's ones, not seen another brand although I think there's one that sells online. I think you can get the Jordan's online too but no idea what flavours or if there's a minimum order as never looked.
milann don't knock the half pounds! I got to target with losing mainly half pound a week with the odd lb here and there! Good day there today. Enjoy your steak this evening - we definitely enjoyed our T-Bone on Thursday night! We bought a couple a few weeks ago and then decided one between us would be enough so still got one in the freezer so may well have that for my birthday meal next month!
