Tonight's tea, chicken & mushroom curry 4 syns, crispy kale-speed, egg fried cauliflower rice-speed
Wondered if I could have a recipe for this curry? It looks wonderful!
Hi, it's Mayflower curry powder, buy in b&m/farmfoods for £1 28g powder is 4 syns, i dry fry the chicken , onion and garlic, then i make the sauce up in a seperate saucepan and  then pour it in, i tend to make it in the morning then the flavour gets in the chicken, About 5 mins before i serve i add the peas and mushrooms.
Cauliflower rice, whizz the cauli,  chop peppers, mushrooms , spring onion or whatever you want to use, add turmeric for colour, dry fry , make a well, gradually add to beaten eggs.
Crispy kale, place on a baking tray tsp sweetener, liberal covering of chinese 5 spice spray with frylight. Put in the oven but WATCH it, it burns quickly.

    Afternoon all
    Thanks Ruby 😁

    Just catching up

Welcome back Coxy.  Certainly is I'm in Group 5 so they've obviously finished the over 70s in my area so they're a few days in advance which is pretty good considering they were a bit late starting!

Funnily enough my consultant left after nearly 20 years a few weeks ago!  Have you still got access to the website or did you stop going to group a while back?  If you need any syn values just ask - there's usually someone around who will be able to help.

If you've got an Iceland they do a Syn Free Chinese banquet - no idea what it's like as never tried it but people at my group reckon it was good.  I just don't do ready meals apart from my own ones which I freeze!

Being at target I've still got access to the website and only have to send my weight to the covering consultant every 7 weeks in order to keep the website access.  If we go back to real groups then I'll probably do the same then rather than going every week like I used to as I seem to be able to stay within target range albeit hovering around top end!  Only been out once this lockdown and that was only by 0.5lb!

Good luck with going it alone.

Hello coxy, good to have you on board again😊. I wonder how many consultants will give up after all the messing around with lockdown. I know that's happened at denise's group. As you're going it alone, do ask if you want us to look up any syn values.

I like the idea of celebrating Chinese New Year. I've been in Hong Kong twice in the past for the holiday and it's brilliant. Remember holidays??😉

We don't normally make a a fuss on Valentine's Day  but anything that makes life a bit different at the moment is worth it.  I'm doing HM lasagne and Eton mess tomorrow evening, both are favourites of DH.

I like chilli with JP's too. If you have any in, try putting a dollop of cottage cheese on the side.  It's like having sour cream but adding protein without the syns. 😋

OMG I need to try the KFC at some point. Thanks for the curry powder info bubbs. Will try our B&M tomorrow.
The SC netted 4 portions of veg chilli. I’ve left one out for tonight so I don’t have much space on the plate for the Chinese ;)  I too dislike ready meals Denise but thought I’d try a treat for the family. It was £16 for half a duck, ribs, 16 piece starter, chow mein, sweet and sour and chicken and black bean sauce. I had £11 of MrT vouchers drop in the mat yesterday so meal only cost £5 (MSE mods please take note). I rarely go to MrT for anything other than milk top up usually.
Will check out Iceland tomorrow too as want to get some SW sausages although the Aldi skinny ones are good too if I can get them.
    Have a good evening all.

I like the Aldi 0.5 syn skinny sausages although the skins can be tough. Next option is Sainsburys BGTY at 1 syn. Not heard good reports of SW sausages but worth a try. 😊

    Okay Bubbs - noted  ;)
I didn’t have any Chinese apart from a mini spring roll (4). The veg chilli was enough for me. Good job too as ready meals didn’t stretch far with DH and 3 teens. Was asked what was for main course - cheeky beggers.
Lesson learnt there. Back to homemade from now on  B)
