Yes, well done liz. 👏 I think it's a good idea to weigh tomorrow. Personally I'd do that every week as it takes the pressure off the weekend. Then even if you have a few extra treats you've got a few days to play catch up. 😊

Welcome Frankie. 😊 Just ask if we can help at all. Personally I prefer adapted recipes to SW ones. The ones on the list are tried and tested if you fancy any of them.

Sounds like everyone is delighted for you sary, except your boss! 🤣

We enjoyed our sausage casserole and I have a small portion left to have with a JP for lunch. 😋

Morning all!  Wow those pics are amazing bubbs, well done on your transformation.  I'm sure you'll get the extra lbs off soon.  Welcome Frankie, there are a lot of SW recipes through the threads and if you ask for something specific, someone will be able to find something for you.  Trust me sary, that feeling of satisfaction for moving on will stay with you for a while.  It's been over a year and I still chuckle to myself occasionally about leaving my last job, especially when they keep emailing me for help!

Woke up to an even colder morning here - really didn't want to get out of bed but needs must.  As it was so cold, I've had porridge with some bluberries for breakfast and will go make myself a latte soon.  Lunch is going to be some vegetable soup with the last of the falafels dunked in it.  Dinner tonight is going to be hunters chicken with some chips and mixed veg on the side.

Hope everyone stays warm and safe!

Thanks for the recipe links etc. It's not so much wanting particular recipes as getting new ideas...and I love to batch cook meals :)

I've woken up this morning to the boiler not working so I'm waiting for an engineer to come out and I'm not sure what that will mean for the grocery shopping or the meal plan I had organised.

Below is the plan and I'll just have to see what actually happens

B: Coffee & water etc (I've stopped eating early in the morning so don't bother with breakfast)
L: Veggie soup (1.5 syns for the olive oil used to fry the onion) & a quesadilla ( HEB for the wrap & HEA for cheese)
T: Pork sausages x 2 (these are bog standard ones that need using up so will need to check what the syns are), mashed pot, veg and gravy (to be syned)

We woke up to the boiler not working on Christmas Eve Frankie!  I feel for you. Fortunately a lovely guy came and fixed it in the afternoon so we had a warm Christmas.  I hope you get yours sorted ASAP. 😊

I think bubbs uses the Mayflower sauce mix for her curries but I could be wrong. She'll let us know later.  I think the problem with not having breakfast is that some people  then get hungry mid morning and grab biscuits or other junk. If you can wait until lunchtime then it should be fine. It's  a dilemma for mse fans when they start SW  as it would be just plain wrong to waste the food that you've already got in. Let us know the brand of sausages and we'll find the syns.  For example, Richmond thick, frozen sausages are 3.5 syns each.

I batch cooked swede & carrot mash and braised red cabbage yesterday afternoon so that's all portioned up and in the freezer  for easy sides with roast dinners. 😋

I haven't done my meal plan for the week  yet but will do and then shop later this afternoon. I know we're having lasagne tomorrow so syns will be tight again this week. I know Valentine's isn't until Sunday but I'd rather have a roast then! 🤣

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash, baked beans (F), fried egg, bacon (P), HEB toast, HEA1 milk
L- LO casserole and veg (P,S,F)
D- Fake KFC (P), SW chips (F), carrot chips, creamy cabbage with HEA2, mushrooms, tomatoes, green stuff (S)
    Syns- weekend wine❤🍷

Morning all, been shopping this morning so fruit and veg topped up plus a small piece of leg of lamb which I'm going to cut into chunks to make a tagine later in the week - it was far cheaper per Kg than buying the pre-cut leg steaks or the lean diced lamb, also means I can cut into decent sized chunks!

Frankie standard sausages are 4.5 each.  I think we all had things which needed to be used up when we first started SW!  It wouldn't be very MSE to not use them.

    Today's plan:

    B - Breakfast hash; fried eggs - potatoes; onions; mushrooms; peas; eggs - P; S; F
    L - Low fat burger & onions in WM roll - HEB; S; 0.5
D - pasta and veg in tomato sauce (using up the LO pizza sauce from the other day); cheese - HEA2; S; F

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - parmasan
    HEB - WM roll
Syns - burger 0.5; weekend wine?

Weather looking better here and snow beginning to thaw although still have about 2-3" on the garden table!

Have a good day and weekend everyone and wrap up warm if you need to go out.

PS. Have had a phone call from GP surgery with an appointment for CV vaccine for tomorrow morning 👍.

    Hi everyone,
I joined you briefly during the first lockdown but went on holiday in August and failed to keep posting after that. My long time SW consultant has given up her 4 groups after 12 years(!) so I'm going it alone at home and hope you don't mind me tagging along?
I have a pretty good grasp of the plan but always love to see what everyone else is cooking as it gives me inspiration to try something new. I currently have about 1.5st to lose but it's slow progress as I'm at that age where my middle is thickening  :open_mouth:
I woke up today feeling really rubbish so skipped breakfast. Had WM pitta with tuna and lettuce and mayo (2) for lunch with some grapes. Dinner tonight is Chinese ready meals from the SM to mark Chinese New Year - don't normally do this but need some excitement during lockdown and children will appreciate it. Will stick to some lean duck meat and some chicken and black bean with egg rice. Just about to eat an apple.
I have some veg chilli in the SC (courgettes, onion, tomatoes, carrot, kidney beans, passata, chilli powder and chilli flakes). Will portion this up for the freezer and will have that with JPs next week for lunch.
Good news about vaccine Denise - I'm group 9 so a while until I get mine unfortunately.
