There was a doctor on tv this morning who talked some sense. One of the things he said was if you feel the urge to snack as yourself 3 fs....
feeling- how did you feel eg bored, worried etc
feed - how does the food feed the emotion eg makes you feel happy, guilty etc
find - what can you find to replace that feeling eg 5 minutes exercise, eating a piece of fruit
it made me think a bit
Well done on getting the job Sary 👏👏👏 I took great satisfaction handing my notice in and writing all my reasons for leaving very truthfully when I left my last job. Didn’t think I had a chance of getting a new job when I was 52. Unfortunately because I’ve had so much time off sick it looks as if I’ll have to take early retirement through I’ll health very soon.January spends - £587.583 -
Evening all, and thanks for the good wishes.
Well what an exciting day! I definitely didn't anticipate all that excitement when I got up this morning, as I thought I'd have a few days to wait to hear back. I told my boss and the colour drained from his face. He asked if there was anything that could change my mind, and I resisted saying 'yes, you could leave instead and take your nepotism and unqualified, lazy family members with you while you're at it!' hehehe Once I pointed out I was going to earn more £ (not much more but he doesn't need to know that), and that there was room for progression, he knew it was a lost cause. He said some very nice, flattering things, and it was a bit too little too late to tell me how fab I am. Much satisfaction to leave them wanting though.
I was so nervous and felt very wobbly at lunchtime, but I did manage to have my bowl of soup, and took in something for later when I felt ravenous. Glad to have stayed on plan.
B - porridge HEB, water, milk form HEA1, skinny syrup
L - HM tomato soup
snack - sf jelly (0.5), sliced peaches (1.5) elmlea (2)
D - LF sausages (6) mash & beans, gravy (2)
rest of HEA1 milk in teas
Hope you got on at hospital okay Bubbs. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home1 -

Good on you sary. Brilliant! 😁 I'm sure your boss knows why he can't keep you.
Those 3 Fs are interesting to know milann. I'm sure much of the the snacking in lockdown is boredom.
Hope the insoles and injections help bubbs. When will it happen? 🤔2 -

Morning all! I'm one of those who have comfort ate over the last year. I'm just over a stone heavier than my lightest weight and I feel it. I've yo-yoed up and down over the past 12 months but trying to be kind to myself and take it a meal at a time. Thanks for posting the advice milann, definitely a lot to think about when I next feel the need to stuff a massive bar of chocolate in my face.
So so cold this morning and will be off making a second cup of tea in a minute to try and help me warm up. Had a couple of boiled eggs with some toast and melon for breakfast. Lunch is going to be another falafel bowl which I've been really enjoying this week. Dinner will be a piece of cod with mushy peas and green beans.

Morning all,
I think I am or was a comfort eater – maybes thrown in with a boredom eater but the kickstart to weight gain was when I changed from a very active job to an unactive job and the diet didn’t really change and the weight crept on. I then a few years later had a bad accident where I was off my feet for three months. In the last 6 years I have also given up smoking to add to the mix. My diet isn’t great this week but I am making the best of a bad situation with having been unable to get to a supermarket. Seriously running low on my cereal so I have my fingers andc cold toes crossed I can get out of here at the weekend. Its currently minus 10 – argh
So breakfast was cereal and lunch is a pot noodle on the go but within my syns. Tonight is LO sausages with whatever veg I can come up with!

Morning all. Really cold overnight and was snowing a bit this morning when I opened the blinds but soon stopped. Looks like it's trying to brighten up but also looks like there could be even more snow up there! I hope not because we've had about 5 inches already, at least that's how much there is on the garden table and some of it had started to thaw yesterday so it's probably more like 6 inches in total!
Glad the hospital went well bubbs. Hopefully it won't be too long before the injections can start.
My weight piled on when I was suffering with severe depression and was off work and did very little except eat and sit and watch TV! Fortunately my the help of a lovely GP I got over that and took early retirement (my depression was work related) at the end of December 2009 - I was able to take my work pension from March 2010 so not long with no money! I continued to put on a more weight but fortunately not too much and by July 2010 I'd had enough and decided to join SW. I lost 1.5 stone but my GP told me because of my medical problems I needed to put back on half stone! You'll not believe how long that took but I did it. So my 2nd target was reached in July 2012 and I've been there or thereabouts ever since.
Talking of which I weighed this morning and I've finally lost a lb but I didn't use all my syns this week (I still had 17 syns left - no idea how that happened after to high syn days last week!). So lb below top end of target range.
Today's plan:
B - Welsh rarebit - HEA2; HEB; P; F
L - LO chicken and ham loaf but not sure what to have with it but probably some salad
D - steak; chips; mushrooms; onions - P; S; F
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
Syns - may have a couple of rum & ginger beers tonight
Have a good day and keep safe everyone.
