No problem liz. Just ask if you want any syn values. We can always look them up for you and FYI wine is, on average, 30 syns a bottle! That's one I know without looking it up. 🤣
I'm off wine completely until at least a stones off, pretty sure wine is one of my main weight gain issues - why can't i like something less fattening like vodka??!

    Evening all,
Interview has been done.  Ended up chatting on the phone with the lady for an hour and a half!  She made all the right noises about me being a perfect fit for the role, etc. and almost slipped up saying 'when you're doing ...' but she does have more people to interview, so I'm not counting on it.  I felt it went well, so that's good enough for me.  Just before we said goodbye I discussed my notice period, and reassured her that I have over 2 weeks holiday to take, and was confident that I might be able to get away with doing only 4 weeks notice, which is about the time it takes for them to do DBS checks and their admin paperwork for a new starter anyway.  We shall see, but I would like to be able to stick it to my boss and hand my notice in, which he absolutely will not expect I can guarantee you.

Because I didn't get off the phone until late this evening, OH had done himself a ping meal, and I made do with some toast, so plan went out the window, but it's just one day, and sausage night is going to be Wednesday this week, so really mixing things up!

One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

That sounds quite positive sary.  Did she say when she'd be in touch to let you know one way or the other?

I wouldn't worry about the toast this evening, as you say it's only one meal.

Sounds like you interviewed well sary. 🤞
I had a slice of toast this afternoon. I just fancied something comforting, tucked up warm on the sofa with my book. I'm counting it in my HEB as it wasn't much bigger than a fish finger. I eat the batch shaped Irish Soda Bread and I only have one slice so even the middle of the loaf isn't a full HEB. 🤔
  • Morning all!  Sounds like the interview went well sary 🤞 for you - I loved that feeling of handing my notice in to a manager who "had no idea" how unhappy I was, he was like a deer in headlights!  Even one of the other directors went to talk to him after I'd seen him and apparently he was just sitting there staring at the letter and they couldn't get a coherent answer out of him 😏

I've also never been to a SW group liz, but I know people who have and just kind of found things online.  I'm not following the plan 100% accurately at the moment but still here in spirit!

We may not have any snow here but it's still really cold - currently -2 and going to go down to -8 this evening.  Lots of cups of tea will be needed today I think.  Had a the same breakfast of weetabix, yogurt, strawbs and bloobs this morning and will make a vegetable hash with a couple of eggs as I need to use them up for lunch.  DH requested lasagne for dinner tonight so I've put the mince in the slow cooker to save some time and effort later!

Hope you all have a good day and stay warm!

Morning all.  Still got quite a lot of snow here and definitely really cold, around 0 at the moment and getting colder.  We've already had a bit more snow this morning but just a very short flurry and forecast for more later on today, depending on which way the wind blows!  We might get away without it but on the local forecast it definitely looked as though we'll get a fair bit more!

Machine load of washing on but will definitely be going on the airer and not on the line!

    Today's plan:

    B - Honey Monster; milk - HEA/HEB
    L - Onion soup (from freezer) - S; F
    D - HM Chicken and ham loaf; mash; veg - P; S; F

    HEA1 & 2 - milk
    HEB - cereal
    Syns - none planned

Have a good day, keep safe and warm.

has anyone worked out a recipe for home made bread that can be used as HEB? we make all our own bread generally and id like to continue that, i'm guessing it's just a case of portion size if the bread is simple sugar and fat free recipe....

sorry forgot to post todays meal plan:
B - coffee with skimmed milk, fat free greek yogurt, fozen mango, strawberries and blueberrys and 30g toasted oats (am trying to work out how to make something "granola-esque" that would still count as syn free and HEB)
L - soup made from almost all yellow sticker ingredients  o:)
D - meatballs with spaghetti, marinara sauce and salad
i also have half a melon in the fridge in case i fancy a snack and forgot to say yesterday i've been having an options hot choc in the evening to stop me reaching for rubbish before bed!

You can use home made bread but it would have to be made with wholemeal flour.  You could then have 60g of bread as HEB.

Have you thought about making a wholemeal sourdough starter and use that to make your bread?  Instructions online if you fancy giving it a go!  Try the Doves website for instructions.

DH often makes bread but I don't eat it, both sourdough and yeasted breads.  He's tried making wholemeal bread but I just find it far too heavy to enjoy.

Did the toasted oats work?  By the way it's 40g of oats as HEB now not 30g!  Don't want to do yourself out of the extra 10g!

A lady at my sw group makes her own wholemeal bread and freezes it in 60g chunks. I’ve never made it.
Not sure what got into me yesterday. My meals were fine but I grazed and snacked on rubbish all day and at the time didn’t give a toss 😳 I was so mad with myself last night...anyway instead of letting it throw my week off I’ve counted everything I could remember and it came to 33 syns.....so I’m counting 40 for the day incase I’ve forgotten anything and will do 105 for the week. I’m going to be kind to myself and not dwell on it as I couldn’t get out with the ice and it brought some emotional stress stuff. It is what it is.
    So far so good today
Breakfast - heb sw wrap plus an extra 1 - 6 syns (I think) hea cheese, onion, ham and tomato. Toasted with filling in the middle.
dinner - ham, beetroot and apple
tea - not sure yet but a sw hm meal from the freezer

    January spends - £587.58
