Ruby - chicken schnitzel sounds lovely!  Not had that for a very long time - something else to add to next month's menu plan.  I've got a list of different meals on the bottom of my meal planner at the moment so it makes it a bit easier to formulate the plan.

Meals seem to have been a bit samey over the winter so time to shake things up a bit!  Trouble is DH keeps putting silly things which I'm not going to eat on it like bacon & mushroom roly-poly!  As if I'm going to eat suet pastry!
  • Anyone having issues with getting beetroot? Or may be it is because there seems to be a dearth of fresh veg at the moment.

Like everyone, I am shaking up my meals at the moment, hopefully that will give a bit of a boost to loss, also taking the attitude that there is no law that says we need to eat breakfast foods for breakfast, so I ate lunch for breakfast today and had weetabix with pear for lunch! Dinner is going to be chicken, with baby potatoes I cooked yesterday so I will chuck them in the actifry and currently undecided whether to have cabbage or carrotts, will need to decide as I will have a zoom lesson until 7:30, so will need to prep.
A smile costs little but creates much :)

Well done on your pound klew and your little loss too ruby. It's all positive and progress in the right direction. 😊

Thanks for the SC comments. I think I'll probably stick with mine until it dies. It lives in a  kitchen cupboard so although it's scruffy I don't have to look at it! 🤣

We went for a walk this morning. The snow came and went quickly yesterday here so not slippy at all. It was a glorious day and we found a new (to us) park near Asda which is about 3 miles from home. I think that's local enough especially combined with an essential journey. 😉 Sadly they had no Frylight at all! 😢 We have got other Asda branches fairly nearby but I expect they'd be in the same position. I'll see how I feel tomorrow other wise I'll stick with £1.50 at places like Home Bargains or Aldi's own brand.

I usually stock up on beetroot gtq so got several large jars in Farmfoods just after Christmas. I did notice they had some in Lidl  the other week as I thought it was good value. I tend only to buy the vacuum packed beetroot when it's on Super 6 in Aldi.

I've long since given up on asking my DH what he'd like to eat denise. It became a standing joke. I'd ask him, he'd say 'pies' every week, I'd glare at him and we'd be no further forward. He is good at writing things down on the shopping list when we need them though. I just ask him now if he wants any cakes or biscuits as he lurches between being very good and snacking. I know he's put weight on since Christmas but if he's happy then I'm not going to comment. 😉

I've got a few syns left after the weekend. It'll be tight but they'll be enough to see me through until Thursday although I have got a few recipes with syns on the menu this week.

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash (F), HEB toast, HEA1 milk, fried egg (P), mushrooms and tomatoes (S)
    L- ham (P), 1 potato (F), fried veg and pickles (S)
D- baked cod (P), SW chips (F), carrot chips, garlic mushrooms with HEA2, broccoli, asparagus and mange tout mix (S)
    Syns- 0

I don't actually ask DH maman but he sees things on the menu plan as the plan is on the fridge door.  When I ask him if he wants anything on the plan for the following month it's usually "a nice juicy steak!"!

I've still got syns left, not sure how many as haven't totted it up but think I've probably got around 7 or 8 a day available from now until Wednesday but like you I need a few for meals!  Will need to tot it up which I'll do later as have decided I'm going to have a couple of rums this evening as DH has poured himself a beer!

DH is definitely snacking again now, more so that when he decides he wants to lose a bit of weight.  Trouble is his snacks tend to be extra cheese sandwiches!

Looks delicious as usual bubbs. 😋 Your meals always make me feel hungry as we eat later. 🤔

I'm sure my DH will take himself in hand when he needs to denise. The problem is a lack of motivation. SW often say it helps to have an occasion in mind to aim at. The last time he took it seriously was to do up the trousers of his dinner suit as he doesn't want to buy a new one. Maybe we should have a black tie date night! 🤣

Love the idea maman!  DH is pretty much the same really.  When his trousers start getting a bit tight to do up that's when he'll decide he needs to be "good" and not eat loads of bread and stick to a couple of slices a day and snack on fruit or carrot sticks & hummus.

    Evening
still lots of the white stuff here, and it’s all
freezing solid too. Driving to work, the car park and then walk to the office from carpark was like being Jayne Torvill. I considered entering the office to the sound of Bolero put it that way!

I’ve had another dodgy stomach day which really affects what I feel like eating. Consequently it’s not been 100% on plan, but it’s just 1 day.
B - porridge HEB, milk from HEA1 water, skinny syrup & apple slices, but didn’t eat it until midday
L - snacked on some fruit loaf (9)
    snack - pufts (5?)
d - chicken, baked potatoes, beans, cheese HEA2, ketchup (2)

I’ve not used my SC for a while because it’s too large for OH and I, unless I batch cook, and I’ve found it makes my bolognese less rich and a bit watery, whereas cooking on low on the hob has been much better somehow. My job has a timer so I can set it to simmer on very low even when I go off to work for a set time.

One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
