All this talk of kfc is making me want one. Iโ€™ll make it when dh is at work next week and give it to him. Iโ€™m sure he will enjoy it but if he sees it being made might turn his nose up at the potato.....Iโ€™ll ask him to guess whatโ€™s in it and tell him after he says how nice it is ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
I gave him some of the blue cheese dip I made. He loved it but wouldnโ€™t have even tried it had he known it was mostly quark with a tiny slice of Stilton.๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Aren't men funny about their foodย milann? ย My DH used to be like that but he's quite used to me using odd things sometimes now - after all I've been doing SW since 2010! ย Having said that he already used to eat quark but spread on bread as we had friends in Germany prior to then and they used to have it in the fridge all the time.

We've got a layer of snow this morning and that is so unusual here. ย Think we've only had snow once in the 20 years we've lived here. ย So glad I went shopping yesterday and didn't leave it until today!

    Today's plan:

    B - fry up - sausages; eggs; tomato; mushrooms beans - P; S; F; 2
L - undecided! - either Welsh rarebit or toast and HM chicken liver pate (if I get round to making it this morning!)
    D - fish pie; peas; green beans - P; S; F; 4

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese?
Syns - sausages 2; cheese sauce 4; couple of rum & ginger beer 5

PS. chicken liver pate made but only just gone into the fridge so don't think it's going to be firm enough for lunch! ย So Welsh rarebit it will be. ย We can have the pate tomorrow lunchtime. ย I'm going to freeze some in silicon moulds in usable portions as there is far too much to use up in a couple of days!

This is the basic KFC recipe that I use.ย
Homemade Healthy KFC Chicken - Basement Bakehouse
But like everything, I've adapted it especially with advice from bubbsย and others. I'm a convert to using thighs rather than breast meat but I find one egg is enough. I add mustard powder as well and I've been adding some tarragon too but that's just because I want to use it up.ย

My DH was shocked to see intant mashed potato in the cupboard as he knows (at least the thinks he does) that we don't eat it. He was horrified that I added Marmite to gravy too becasue he doesn't eat Marmite!! ๐Ÿ˜

No snow here. It was pouring with rain earlier but now cleared up. I'm going to do more swede & carrot mash later for tomorrow and for the freezer.ย

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit (F), fried eggs, bacon (P), HEB toast, HEA milk
L- sardines (P), pickled cabbage (S), lentil and veg soup (P,S)
D- Aldi chicken curry (P,S?), HM pilau rice andย  probably SW chips (F), extra veg (S)
    Syns-ย  curry 1, weekend wine๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‰

    Evening all,
Our covering of snow is still on the garden, but the paths are clear now.

    Today's plan is like this:
B - porridge HEB, splash of milk from HEA and water, skinny syrup and cinnamon
L - 2 KFC chicken thighs with cheese HEA2, pickles and small portion of HM tomato soup
    snack - light & free yogurt (0.5)
    D - 2 KFC chicken thighs with mash & beans, ketchup (2)
Another low syn day, but haven't really needed any extras to be honest.

I did find a bar of NAS dark mocha chocolate DS3 bought me last year and wondered if someone could put the values into the calculator for me please?
    Cals (100g) 457; fat 35.1; sat fat 21.4; carbs 47.1; sugars 0.3; fibre 7.8; protein 5.5ย ย
The bar has 24 chunk portions, so I can try to work out how many each cube will be syn wise and debate whether to open it or not

Thank you maman.ย  That works out at just under 1 syn per square, which is fine.ย  The ingredients are something like cocoa, cocoa butter, sweetener and coffee.ย  I think the calories come from the cocoa butter I guess given the low sugar count.

I count the dark chocolate I have as 1 syn per squareย saryย so sounds about right to me. ย I think you're right about it being the cocoa butter being where the calories come from.

Thanks for the kfc recipes folks. Iโ€™ll do them on Wednesday or Thursday. I went shopping at about 5 pm this evening to Morrisonโ€™s. It was very quiet and people seemed to be wearing their masks. There was hardly any veg left - I went across the road to Aldi who had slightly more but still lots of empty shelves. Hopefully Iโ€™ve got enough to see me through the week. ย Couldnโ€™t get lettuce anywhere.
Today Breakfast - wholemeal pitta, bacon, tomato, Philadelphia cheese 2 synsย
Dinner - ham, cucumber, tomato, cottage cheese, blue cheese dip 1/2 syn
Tea - chicken and walnut stew topped with pomegranate Approx 13 syns.....used this up from the freezer my MSE streak wonโ€™t let me waste it. Itโ€™s a very rich Persian stew used for special occasions dh has had it at his bossโ€™ house and then made it for me.
Snacks - 2 Jaffa cakes 5 syns, satsuma, bananaย
I lost 1 lb this morning and did zoom.....still not impressed but it was good to see people. I dusted the wii fit off and did 1/2 hour body magic ๐Ÿ‘
