Morning all. Glad to say it's not raining this morning! But the ground is very wet so don't think there's much likelihood of getting any washing drying outside although once it's properly light it might dry up a bit. Bit undecided as to whether or not I'm going to be hanging the washing out when it's done. Want to get 2 loads done today if I can including bedding.
I ended yesterday on 6 syns as had 4 Ryvita with hummus in the evening.
Didn't go shopping yesterday like we usually do so I'm going this morning. Haven't got masses to get but do need some veg as almost everything - just 2 spring onions, half a cucumber, a pepper, 1/4 cabbage and a bit of lettuce left so definitely not enough for the week!
Today's plan:
B - cheesy omelette - HEA2; P
L - tuna mayo and cucumber sandwich - HEB; P; S; 0.5 (DH is having the last of the leek and barley soup!)
D - KFC, chips, corn on the cob, creamy cabbage - P; S; F; 2
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
Syns - 1 Tbs LTL mayo 0.5; 25g Primula 2; couple of rum & ginger beer 5
Have a good day and keep safe everyone.

Morning all. Definitely think the pasta sauce was the least of my worries when it comes to syns maman - lets just say all the christmas treats have now gone 😳
So another line drawn _____________
Had my morning latte made with oat milk and a banana and a couple of clementine's. Lunch will be vegetable soup with a slice of bread and dinner tonight is chilli with rice and salad.

I managed to get some of the fresh chicken livers this morning so will be having a go at making some of the pate bubbs posted yesterday. The packs are bigger than they used to be so will be opening both packs and dividing up into 3 lots.
Also bought a load of stew veg and going to peel and chop it and then divide up into stew veg packs for the freezer. Makes it much easier to do the lot in one go and then just grab a bag of ready prepped veg when needed.
Have also bought extra leeks to make prep for the freezer ready for when I make the leek and barley soup again. It's such a tasty and filling soup. Definitely don't need as much of it as something like carrot and corriander which I don't find particularly filling.
So looks like lots of freezer Tetris will be needed with this lot!
Off to have a cuppa now.

Someone, think it was Bubbs, posted the ingrediants for the kfc mix and I can't find where I printed them
Know it contains, instant potato & paprika, but can't remember what else. I generally make a good batch of it & store and really fancy it for dinner tonight.

GTQ I think it's instant potato, paprika, garlic, salt & pepper. I'm sure bubbs will be along later to correct me if I'm wrong. She did mention it recently, but not sure if it was on this, or the old thread. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Thank goodness it's Friday!
Cold but milder here today, so the snow/ice is slowly thawing. How we can cope with much more rain I do not know, as we have lots of repetitive flooding locally at the moment. Thankfully not where I live... at the moment!
Today's Plan:
B - Porridge HEB with milk from HEA1, water, skinny syrup & cinnamon
L - HM tomato soup. An apple
snack - jelly/mango/strawberries/nat. 0% yogurt
Dinner - pork steak, mash, carrots, cauliflower, peas, gravy (2)
Quite a low syn day today, but I may use a few more tomorrow depending upon what we have to eat, so it'll all balance out.
Could do with the lockdown lifting just so I can have the family over to eat all the Christmas food that is still sitting in my freezer. I got 2 turkey crowns on Christmas Eve from M&S reduced from £50 to £7.50! We had one on Christmas day, but it didn't taste like it was worth £50, nice enough as it was. However, I have the other in the freezer, and debating whether OH and I should have it for roast on Sunday. Seems like such a waste for 2 of us, even though we can make it into several more meals. I do have a whole other turkey to feed 8-12 sat in the freezer also, along with vegan food and all the trimmings for a family of 8! That will happen, but probably not until later in the Spring I imagine. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Think I'd be using the turkey crown as a Sunday roast Sary rather than have it sitting in the freezer until goodness knows when! As you say you'll get loads more meals from it which can go back into the freezer to use up over the coming weeks/months, especially as you've got a whole turkey as well which will feed the family.
GTQ you can put pretty much any dried herbs you like into the instant mash powder! I always put some mustard powder, mixed herbs, paprika, garlic granules, S&P in mine. Looking forward to the KFC tonight as not had it for a few weeks after DH complained we were having it every week!
No doubt bubbs will be along later and will tell you what she puts in. I think we all do things a bit different but what does it matter as long as it tastes nice!

I forgot the mustard in the KFC mix!! I knew there was something, thanks Denise.
All this talk of the KFC and I got some chicken thighs out at the same time as the pork chops, so may have a bit of both for my dinner tonight - why not, I'm worth it, as they say
I'm going to get the turkey crown out for Sunday. Decision made with your help
