Morning all.  Sorry you had to cut your trip short denise, but sounds like you had a nice time while you were gone, even with the mountain of washing to do!  But well done on staying within your target range!

Last day at work for me this week as I've booked tomorrow off to have a "me" day, just need to get through today first!  Had usual yogurt, fruit and granola breakfast and lunch will be a chicken salad again.  Dinner tonight is a kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) with some rice and a cucumber kimchi that I knocked up last night.  Very much looking forward to it!

Hope you all have a good day!

Thank you ruby but it was definitely the right thing to do with the horrendous storm last night.

Have done my menu plan and need very little shopping as will be using up stuff from the freezer, although will need to buy some cupboard stuff as ran down some things before going away and also took some with us to use.  So need beans and tomatoes as only a tin or 2 left of each.  Will also get some chickpeas as only one tin left.  Obviously need to get some fresh stuff as virtually no Speed bought back with us apart from some lettuce and a few mushrooms and about half a pepper.

    Today's plan:

    B - cheese on toast - HEA2; HEB; P; F
    L - LO spag bol - P; S; F
    D - chicken curry/rice - P; S; F

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
    Syns - none planned

Glad to say it's just some rain this morning but of course that doesn't help with getting the rest of the washing dry.  It's going to look like a Chinese laundry today with the airer and stuff on hangers around the place!  Definitely going to leave the bedding until we get some better weather again as don't want that draped about the place!

Hope the weather is OK where you all are and the storms last night didn't do any damage.  Have a good day.

    Morning all,

     @joedenise welcome back!

Last nights tea was a disaster lol. I cooked my roasted veg (tomatoes, red peppers and courgette) and hoyed the sausages in too. And a baked potato. Came back a while later, looked at the sausages thought hmm they don’t look right…. 5 days out of date! So raided cupboards and found a tin of Morrisons stewing steak ( sure I saw these weren’t bad on SW hence why I bought it) ((could someone check please?))

    Today

B – fruit and fibre ss milk (in the garden every morning at the moment – lovely)

L – either the same as yesterday flatbread salad chicken or a pot noodle

D – sausage (new ones!) HM chips beans

Syn overload if I have the pot noodle but we will see what happens

ps hopefully dad will get home before the weekend, fingers crossed!

klew you were right about the stewed steak not being too bad:

Morrisons Stewed Steak in Gravy (392g can)          3 Syns

Sounds like something worth keeping in the cupboard for emergencies.  I might even invest in a couple of tins to put in the motorhome for when we're away as would be an easy and low syn meal!

Have been shopping and the cupboards are stocked up again - I hate having nearly empty cupboards!  Managed to pick up some YS skirt beef from Morrisons so have chucked that in the freezer.  Think they would work great for the HB steaks in gravy as they are a good size.

Have sorted the meal plan for the rest of the month and have pretty much everything I need already in the freezer and will just need fruit and veg although not until at least the end of next week!  Will need to pop to Mr Ts on Tuesday as need some yoghurt and like the Greek style from there better than any of the other SMs!  Would have got it today if Mr Ts was in the same town as the Food Warehouse and Lidl's!

@joedenise Thank you for letting me know, it was actually really tasty and I only had half a tin.

So its on the shopping list to have in again for these emergencies. I knew I had read it somewhere!

Good to see you back denise. Seems like you timed it perfectly. 😁

I checked out stewed steak online klew. It seems to vary massively between brands. Morrisons is a good one but others are even better. M&S and Asda are syn free and Tesco is lower too. I remember my mother used to buy the M&S one (chunky steak) and they even do a small tin. Not the most mse but worth knowing. It makes a good meal with new potatoes and veg.😋

We've been out today for a 'Christmas' lunch so off plan. I did make some good choices (smoked salmon and rib eye) but then had a cheese board. I can also report that ginger wine is just as good with ice in the sunshine as by the fireside in December! 🤣🎄

    Back on it tomorrow. 😉

Certainly did time it right maman.  Good to know that other tinned stewed steak is lower than Morrisons.  Just looked up the Tesco one - you have to be careful as they do 2 different ones:  stewed steak in gravy 6 syns per can and a LEAN stewed steak in gravy 1.5 syns per can and it's a slightly bigger tin too!

Your Christmas dinner sounded good and not too far off plan.

There has been a bit of a c*** up with SW changing me over from my old group to the new group and I need to weight tomorrow in order not to lose access to the website!  Glad I weighed when I got home and found I was still just about in target - just got to hope that the "official" scales read the same as my old group's scales!  I know that my scales read 0.5lb lower than the group scales so being at top end of target range it's really a bit tight.  Fingers crossed I'm in target officially tomorrow morning.  Just glad I've kept syns low yesterday and today - a total of 11.5 syns.

Will be a new syn bank of 105 for me tomorrow.  DH is definitely serious about sticking to SW - he threw away half a bottle of full fat coke and bought a diet one today when we went shopping!  Just have to see how long he sticks at it.  He's said it wants to lose at least 8lb - so not a huge amount.  Have told him if he sticks to plan with no mucking about he could do that in a month or so.

🤞for tomorrow denise. 😊 Even if you're slightly over you still have grace week and if your DH is on board too then you can give it your best shot. 😊

Morning all.  Good news - don't need to weigh!  Consultant messaged me this morning (just after 6.30! fortunately my phone was in the living room not bedroom!) to say she'll input my weight virtually as STS so that I don't have to go and weigh, so now going to WI in RL next week instead.  At least this gives me a chance to lose a little bit and definitely be within target range.

Horrible weather again this morning - looks like it's going to be raining all day.  Managed to get quite a bit of my washing dry on the line and airer yesterday before it started raining.  Just have a couple of jumpers and a few socks that haven't dried yet so they are on the airer to finish off.

    Today's plan:

    B - boiled eggs; soldiers - P; HEB; 3
    L - corned beef salad - S; F; 3
    D - beef bourguignon; mash; green veg - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - spreadable butter 3; 50g corned beef 3; couple of rum & ginger beer 5

Have a good day everyone and hope the weather is better where you are!

    Morning all,

If Dad can be moved to oral antibiotics then he can come home today but it depends on what the scan says.

    Fingers crossed!

Dinner last night was lush so having the same again today, I will be late home so its an easy one to do. Im thinking about next weeks meal plan already, will def involve the stewing steak and a crustless quiche to have with salad. Yummy!

B – fruit and fibre ss milk

    L – pot noodle!
D – LF sausages, mushy peas, HM chips and roasted toms.

Tentatively going to try a longer walk on Saturday, been averaging two miles this week in a bid to give the knee an easier time, so hoping to go a nice walk at a steady pace to see how I get on
