Our chest freezer in the garage 'died' at about the same time our girls left home. I managed for a few years with one under the counter freezer in the kitchen. Then we moved washing machine into utility and bought a second under the counter freezer for the kitchen. You're right denise that they don't hold as much as chest freezers but I've organised them well and no plans to change. 😁0

Thanks maman for confirming that 2 undercounted freezers works better than a chest freezer. I'm hoping I can dedicate one drawer for bread products - I usually buy 2 loaves at a time, both of which usually go straight into the freezer plus I buy wholemeal rolls a dozen at a time and then repack into 2s but wondering if I might need to use 2 drawers which would mean 1/3 would be dedicated to bread which seems a lot! I need to keep that amount of bread as DH eats quite a bit and the rolls I get in Asda and as I don't go there often I always pick up a couple of packs! Before I can do this I need to run down the chest freezer completely and get rid of it and then buy the smaller freezers! Think that's going to be some time yet as the chest freezer is full to the gunnels and I'm not really sure exactly what's in there! DH is out again playing golf tomorrow so if's it dry I'll try and get out there and do an inventory so that I'll know what's what for when we come back from holiday and I'll be able to quickly meal plan for the rest of June. Of course I'll be using some of what's in there over the next week or so so I'll need to make sure I cross off stuff I use.
Oops that's turned into a bit of an essay!
Back to SW! Today's plan:
B - fry up - sausages, egg, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans - P; S; F; 2
L - Welsh rarebit - HEA2; HEB; P; F
D - roast beef in gravy from freezer (gravy scraped off mine!); mini roast potatoes; peppers & onions; green veg - P; S; F
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
Syns - sausages 2
Have a good day everyone.

I think you should be fine with one drawer for bread denise. especially as you've been looking at 3 drawer freezers. I've had mine quite a few years now and they are 4 drawers so shallower. I use one drawer for bread and it easily takes 2 large loaves and that leaves more than half the drawer left for rolls. While I have mine organised into different products in different drawers, you can always squeeze (not literally😉) some bread rolls into an odd space temporarily. If you look online, the dimensions are there for all the drawers so you could do some measuring.
My DH always helps putting away the shopping but he just piles all the stuff for the freezer on the worktop and leaves it to me. He knows it's an art form getting everything in and marvels how I manage it sometimes! 🤣
I enjoyed the beef stew for lunch and I've got a portion cooling for the freezer.
Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit (F), bacon, 2 fried eggs (P), HEB toast, HEA milk
L- beef stew (P,F,S)
D- roast beef (P), SW roast potatoes (F), many vegetables (S)
Syns- gravy 4, horseradish 1, wine😁0 -
Sometimes I wish my DH would just leave me to it when putting away the shopping, especially the freezer stuff! I invariably have to move things because he's put stuff in the wrong place and freezer stuff just gets chucked in which is why I have to constantly sort it out and redo the inventory!

Morning all, weather was a bit iffy this morning, what I call lazy rain, quite light but absolutely soaks you! but looking a bit better now it's dried up but the forecast is for some very heavy rain from about 11 o'clock onwards! Was going to do some washing but that can wait to see if we've got any better weather in the next few days, if not I'll have to do it and hang it on the airer or use the tumble dryer.
I had a quick check of my weight this morning and pleased to say I'm just inside top end of target range. Hopefully I can knock another half lb off and I think that will take me back to where I was last time I text my weight to consultant. Have decided I'm going to weigh Thursday morning but not text to the new consultant until Friday. Once I'm back from holiday I'll have a few weeks to get back into target before having a usual Friday WI. I get back from holiday on a Monday so that means I'll have 4 days to try and get back onto plan properly before weighing and then restarting on a Friday with a syn bank of 105. Hope that makes sense - it does to me but not sure it's worded very well!
DH is playing in a golf competition at a club just over an hour away with lunch after so I've got a bit of time to myself as don't think he'll be back much before about 4 o'clock! Might even get some crafting done later once the housework is out of the way!
Today's plan:
B - scrambled eggs & spinach on toast - HEB; P; S
L - jacket potato, cottage cheese & salad - P; S; F
D - salmon fillet, new potatoes, braised lettuce, peas & spring onions - P; S; F
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - 0
Have a good day everyone.

Hi everyone,
I've been reading along but not posted for a few days - just busy with bits and bobs. It's showery weather here and set to last all week I think. Window cleaner has just been - puppy went loopy - good guard dog trying to protect us so shouldn't complain.
Food over the weekend has been mixed. DH made a fab spag bol on Saturday and we had roast gammon yesterday. Food in between was on the naughty side, but I'm not going to beat myself up about it.
Food today:
B - croissant, shreddies, skimmed milk - HEB/HEXA1, 9
L - LO gammon, salad leaves, tomatoes, pickles
D - spaghetti, hm tomato sauce, LM sausages cut up - family are having meatballs and spaghetti
HEXA2 - parmesan
Snacks - satsumas, apple
Syns - 9
Have a good day everyone,
