Maman,
Funny you should say pie i have pie today, but it has only been a couple of weeks since we had it
Mayflower curry has gone up in syns, also the recipe has changed and tbh it's not as nice, i liked the sw chip shop curry sauce, but they have stopped making that! so the syns are the same for sweet & sour and tbh i like that 😂 but i do have 2 tubs of powder so will have to use it.
Denise it came over as black as your hat here and thought it was going to tip it, we had a few heavy spots for about a minute and that was itSealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance::dance:0 -
bubbs I dashed out and got the washing in between the showers! Glad I did and it hasn't stopped for well over an hour and it's still raining! Ended up giving it another rinse and spin before drying in the tumble dryer.
The Mayflower curry powder you've got presumably is the lower syn one so same syns as before. What's the difference in syns? I've never used it and just make my own curry powder mix. I make enough for a few curries in one go - the mix I use is flavoursome rather than hot, although can be hotter if wanted just by adding some extra chilli!
If you liked the SW chip shop curry sauce can you not just make it using the recipe on the pack? Again it's not something I've ever made. Just checked and the recipe is on the website so might be worth giving it a go if you liked it.

Denise, we have just had a heavy shower but sun out again now.
No it's not the lower syn one
I tried making it before and it never worked out was vile 🤣🤣Sealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance::dance:0 -
It's finally stopped raining here too but definitely no sun - it's just really grey. Wouldn't be surprised if it rains again later!
Shame it's not the lower syn one. I always thought it was 4 syns per Tbs but this is what is showing on the website:
Mayflower Curry Sauce Mix, Medium/Extra Hot, Chinese Style, dried (1 level tbsp powder) 3 Syns
Is that not the one you use?
It's a shame the recipe doesn't actually replicate the sauce you could buy! I thought the recipes were supposed to be what was in the product.
Have you tried the SlimmingEats recipe? https://www.slimmingeats.com/blog/syn-free-chip-shop-curry-sauce
Not tried it myself but might be worth a try.
