bubbs You made with laugh with the comment about not liking cream!  You have ice cream every night, LOL!

Ground ginger will be fine but don't use too much as it is much stronger - I think it's 1/4 tsp of powder to 1 Tbs of fresh.  Ask me how I know 🤣🤣🤣!

I buy fresh and then freeze it.  It grates quite easily from frozen and I don't even bother removing the skin and then don't need to use as much as there is more flavour in the skin.

Let us know how it turns out.

I suspect the SW recipe on the website is more like a korma because it adds yoghurt at the end.  It would probably have been OK without it!  I'm with you on the korma; I'm not keen on the creaminess of it and I also find it far too mild.

Do you like chips and curry sauce?  Might be worth trying that if you do.  At least then you could taste it with something rather than wasting loads of stuff in a curry.  I'd also only make a fraction of the recipe rather than the whole lot, although that might be difficult with the whole thing only needing 1 tsp of fresh ginger!  Think you'd only need to use a pinch of dried!

Well it doesn't look like we'll be going to a National Trust property today!  It's absolutely p'ing down again.  We don't need to leave for a couple of hours yet so if it stops we may well chance it; if not then I think we may well have an indoor picnic just because it's already made, although I probably won't eat the sandwich again and just have a salad or might even cook some chips!

Anyway today's plan is looking like this:

B - bacon, beans & tomatoes & toast - HEB; P; S; F (DH has smoked a big piece of pork loin so want to try it - also taken off a thick slice each end and chopped up and now open freezing some lardons)
    L - scotch egg; ham sandwich; banana - P; F; 12.5
    D - goat tagine; herby couscous - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
    Syns - bread 7; sausages 2; butter 3.5

This means I will just about come in below syns with a couple left which I'm actually surprised by, really thought I'd have been over with having to syn bread again!

Morning all!  Thanks for the tuscan chicken recipe, looks really good and will probably go on the meal plan for next week.

I use the Slimming Eats Chinese-style chicken curry recipe and it goes down really well with DH.  Basically you whiz up butternut squash and courgette together and add in curry powder and chinese 5 spice so you're getting some speed in without really thinking about it.  The recipe makes loads so we always end up with a couple of portions of the sauce in the freezer.  Might actually make some more next week now.

Went for a run this morning and thought it was going to be awful but actually it wasn't too bad, even if it was my first time running in the rain!  Have now ordered myself a baseball cap to try and keep the rain out of my face as the hood from my rain jacket just didn't really cut it.  After a lovely shower I had my default ff greek yogurt with fruit and granola for breakfast.  Lunch is going to be the last of the leftover beef joint with mushrooms and a fried egg for lunch and then dinner is homity pie with some Linda M's red onion and rosemary sausages.  Might have to go and make myself another coffee at this rate, feeling rather sleepy right now.

Hope everyone has a good day!

That really is dedication running in the rain ruby. Well done! 😊

Hope you managed to get out denise. It's very changeable here. OK unless you get caught in a huge downpour.

Thanks for the Tuscan chicken recipe klew. I was surprised it was creamy, somehow expected it to be beans and tomatoes. 🤔 Did you use Primula for the cheese? I'm sure it would work like it does for the garlic mushrooms and bubbs uses cheese triangles. Using a HEA could make it syn free.

Football last night wasn't exactly memorable but it was good to get out and we did 6 500+  steps getting there and back.  We took our own coffee and then DH fished a chocolate bar from his pocket! I just had a small piece of the 7 syn Aldi 70% bars  so I'm counting it as 2. Still loads left unused before WI tomorrow.  I had a small JP when I got back last night with some cottage cheese & beetroot so totally SW friendly.

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit (F), fried eggs (P), mushrooms and tomatoes (S), HEB toast, HEA1 milk
L- LO cottage pie and veg (P,S,F)
    D- SW Bolognese (P,S,) with pasta (F), HEA2 Parmesan
    Syns- 0

    Afternoon all,

Spin was brilliant last night, muscles are aware they had a workout last night but in a good way. It is definitely my favourite form of fitness class by far. I used to do Zumba around ten years ago and enjoyed that. Mainly because the instructor incorporated music we know rather than just the Zumba style music. After I hurt my knee I knew I couldn’t do the twisting in a Zumba class.

    B – granola ss milk

L – lentil and tomato soup space raiders

D – LO Tuscan chicken with pasta or rice not sure yet.

I will be making something else I think from pinch of nom next week so will let you know how that goes too

Ps: I followed the recipe for the Tuscan chicken, I used the lightest Philadelphia not primula

Did manage to get out and luckily didn't get caught in a heavy shower while we were in the gardens.  There was a few spots while we were queueing to get into the house (only ground floor open as there is only one staircase which isn't wide enough for 2 way traffic!  Quite small gardens with such a big house and a ruin.  Including having a cup of tea in the teashop we were only there for about an hour and quarter.

As it still wasn't lunchtime we decided to go into the big town nearby to have a wander but the queue of traffic to get there was half way round the roundabout so we changed direction and ended up in the big town about 25 miles from where we live.  It was very black so we ended up eating lunch out but I was very good and had a gammon steak; eggs; small jacket.  It didn't come with any veg so DH gave me his field mushroom and half a tomato and a few peas so at least I got a bit of Speed so I saved the syns on the sandwich again!  Just 3.5 syns for 10g pat of butter on the jacket.

Going to have the scotch egg with chips and some salad for dinner tonight and we'll have the goat tagine tomorrow.

I've also got an ox cheek in the fridge defrosting - should be defrosted by now.  Going in marinade in jerk seasoning overnight and tomorrow will cook up a jerk beef stew for the freezer.  This is a Pinch of Nom recipe which I've made before and we really enjoyed it. - https://pinchofnom.com/recipes/caribbean-jerk-stew/ .  Link if anyone's interested.  You don't have to use ox cheek, can use stewing beef instead.

Need to go and change the syns on the planner!
