Morning all.  It's lovely weather this morning.  Have taken the bedding off the motorhome bed and washed some of it and that's out on the line; 2nd load in the washing machine now.  Assuming tomorrow is as nice will do our indoor bedding.  It's great being able to get stuff out on the line to dry - hate having wet washing around the place!

DH has gone to play golf and is going to pick up some more compost and rotted farmyard manure so that we can get on with potting stuff out.

I weighed myself this morning and the damage isn't quite as bad as I'd feared although still up by just over half a pound so it's a good job I'm not weighing officially this week as I would need to lose lb by Thursday morning and that just isn't going to happen.  No doubt it's going to go up again at the weekend as we're meeting up with the same friends again so another boozy weekend coming up!

    Today's plan:

    B - overnight oats - HEB; S; F
    L - jacket potato, cottage cheese & salad - S; F
    D - mini meatloaf with tomato glaze; mash & green veg - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - porridge oats
    Syns - none planned

While I'm doing the jackets for lunch have decided to do some extra to freeze and can take them with us at the weekend to have with BBQ meat & veg.  They reheat great on the BBQ!

    Have a good day everyone.

I like bamboo socks too, I also wear blister socks which are a similar thing when I am on long walks, cotton are the devil for blisters.

Was a super early start at work, I had a bigger bowl of cereal to keep me going until lunchtime so will have to syn some of it.

L – tomato soup mini chicken satay

D – LO chicken stir fry and rice

Ate a whole mango last night I was starving!

L - HM Leek and potato soup
D - Mexican mince, salad leaves, tomatoes - 6 syns for tortilla chips
    HEX2 - cheese
Snacks - kiwi, pineapple, satsumas, apple
    Syns planned - 6

    Have a good day everyone,
    Coxy

We've not had WiFi until now since early this morning. It's surprising how much I miss it. ☹️

I'd say there wasn't a great deal of difference in cooking the butter beans either way but the SC was simpler. I did 400g (from cold water) for about 5 hours on high then checked them. Not ready so checked after 30 minutes more on low. Ready after 6 hours then cooled overnight. The ones I'd soaked I boiled then simmered for 50 minutes but not ready. Probably another 20 minutes until I was happy. I think it depends on how old the beans are and mine are old! 😉 I portioned up 9 x 240g from 800g of dry beans. That's the drained weight in a tin. I must put them on the menu regularly as the downside is they take up freezer space compared with tins.

    Today's EE plan -
B- NAS grapefruit, skinny syrup, banana (F), HEB porridge, HEA milk, raspberries (S)
    L- LO casserole (P, F, S) with pickled cabbage (S)
D- baked haddock (P), mini roasts, mushy peas (F), cauli, broccoli, mushrooms, tomato (S)
    Syns - 0

Thanks maman.  Will have to give butter beans another go!  I cooked mine after soaking and quite a lot of them were already split; after cooking I'd say about half were split.  They were OK for making hummus but not for adding to stews as they looked awful.  Will definitely give the SC version a go, definitely much simpler.

Well the mini loaves are all mixed up and in the loaf tins.  I thought I might get more than the 4 the recipe said but the holes certainly needed a 1/4 of the mixture to fill nicely.  If they're any good then they will be going on the menu regularly as they are supposed to be nice hot with potatoes and veg and also supposed to be good cold with a salad so that's what we'll have for lunch tomorrow then we'll know how we feel about them rather than freezing and then finding once defrosted we don't like them!

Have just written out my "mini" shopping list for stuff to take away with us plus for dinner tomorrow night and it's mainly different types of mushrooms!

Has anyone made mushroom stroganoff using Primula Light rather than the tubs of cream cheese?  If they have it would save me having to buy cream cheese as I've already got the Primula in the fridge.  Don't fancy the recipe on the SW website which uses fromage frais rather than cream cheese - the only thing going for that recipe is that it is Syn Free!

I use Primula for my Mushroom Stoganoff denise. And I add some grated Parmesan. I always use chestnut mushrooms as they stay nice and firm and don't leak black 'juice'. It's the Slimming Eats recipe. It's their recipe for garlic mushrooms too which is much the same except for some additional ingredients.

Let us know about the meat loaf. It could be a good picnic food as well as a meal. 🤔

Thanks for that maman.  Looks like the shopping tomorrow is mainly mushrooms!  I always use chestnut mushrooms for the garlic mushrooms but usually buy cream cheese in a tub.  Will use Primula in future, with a bit of grated parmasan.  That reminds me I need to add parmasan to my shopping list as have run out!

The meatloaf was quite tasty.  The mix seemed very wet with the grated veg in it so I didn't add the egg but think I should have done as they turned out a bit dry but were fine with a bit of gravy!  As you all know I don't really have gravy normally but I definitely needed a little bit with this.  I suspect that means they'll be a little bit dry when they're cold!  But my own fault.  Will definitely make them again but will make sure I add the egg!  Having said that I think the Slimming Eats recipe is better, similar taste but the tomato glaze was nicer but it uses tomato ketchup so involves syns whereas the SW one is Syn Free.

I'l let you know after lunch tomorrow what they were like cold with salad.  SW website actually says they are a lunchbox food with salad. No mention of eating hot but I know the Slimming Eats one uses them hot as a meal.
