Thanks bubbs but got a whole salmon at Morrisons the other day which is why DH is smoking a side today - it's in the smoker now!  Should be ready to slice some time between 4 and 6 - will see what it's like from 4 o'clock onwards.

That's a very good price for salmon bubbs. I wonder if I could cut it into fillets myself? 🤔 I've done it with large joints of beef before. Has anyone tried with salmon?

I have my lentil soup to portion up from yesterday. I had to have a taste test so had some last night about 11 p.m. Yum!😋

Did you get your car back beanie? 😊 I have to do the insurance on mine in the next few days. I noticed that an upgrade of courtesy car is an option. It's expensive enough anyway so probably stick with the basic.

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash (F), bacon, fried egg (P), tomatoes (S), HEB toast, HEA milk
    L- lentil soup (P,S)
D- roast lamb (P), SW roast potatoes (F), many veg (S)
Syns- HM gravy 4, weekend wine😊

maman - I always cut my own fillets from the salmon, have done for years now.  It's one of the reasons I like to buy a whole salmon so that I can cut them the size we want rather than those silly little skinny bits the SM's seem to think are big enough for a portion!

Glad you enjoyed your lentil soup late last night🤣🤣🤣.

We haven't bothered with a courtesy car for the last few years as we always had two cars but I think when we renew again we'll probably need to as we've only got the one car now.  The motorhome's too big to use instead of a car as most car parks just aren't big enough; and I don't the I'd like to have to use the scooter if it's raining or freezing cold, LOL!

    Hi everyone,
Meal last night was delicious but have realised that rich food and my tummy don't get on too well. I couldn't finish the pudding as just too much for me. Menu was scallops with leek on a shell with a puff pastry lid, fillet of beef with cavelo nero, field mushroom and diced potato, banana and chocolate sponge with sticky toffee sauce and banana creme fraiche. DH happily ate my leftovers!! We had a nice bottle of chateau neuf de pape with it, so on a bit of a go slow today.
Have just got back from A!di, so we are stocked for the week. Got some peri peri mackerel to have with salad. Is anyone able to check syns please (praying not too many...)
    Food today:
    B - weetabix and skimmed milk - HEXB/HEXA1
    L - nothing yet
D - takeaway curry, no alcohol for me, just pepsi max  :)
    Syns - loads again....!
Tomorrow will be a better day.

Good news coxy, the mackerel is only 2 syns for the 200g pack. 😁

Meal sounds delicious if very filling. At least birthday boy made sure none was wasted. 😁

Glad you enjoyed your meal last night.  Sounds delicious (not the dessert though as I don't like chocolate pudding!).

Is it the Aldi smoked mackerel with Piri Piri flavouring, chilled, 200g pack?  If so it's 2 syns for the pack.  It's the nearest I can find in the list.

    Enjoy your Indian takeaway tonight.

Back on plan with some damage limitation tomorrow!

I’m another who portions my own salmon after buying when on offer. Just check for pin bones as I find my Morrison’s just hack it in half....but if I buy from a market a ride away they take the pin bones out with tweezers. My pet hate is bones in fish.
Yesterday I had a better day.
breakfast - heb bread roll with bacon and tomato
dinner - chicken salad with an hard boiled egg from a new sandwich shop across the road from home
tea - paella - approx 2 syns for a tiny bit of chorizo a piece of diam bar cake which I couldn’t find anywhere to check syns and packaging was thrown.....I’m counting 13 - taking me to 15 syns
    Today
brunch - bacon, sausage 1 syn, scrambled egg using fri light, tomato, mushrooms heb toast
tea - pork in cider sauce 3 syns, new potatoes, green beans, carrots, onions, sprouts
sponge and a squirt of cream - 22 syns 😲 should have checked before I ate it.....was guesstimating about 13 😳. At least I’ve acknowledged it and can do some damage limitation.
    January spends - £587.58
