That’s a good idea to mix things up Klew.
JoeDenise a little motor home is something we’re looking into. We used to have an old tourer we kept in Cornwall but ended up only being able to get down once a year and the site fees kept going up and the van was getting worse for wear so it had to go. We haven’t had a proper holiday since it went over 3 years ago. We’ve seen a couple of vans we like on line but will wait until the showrooms open before we make a final decision as I want to actually see it before we buy and although our town has  a car sale room for every car going all the motor home places are a drive away....I’m quite excited as we can go to local places for a weekend as well as back down to Cornwall which is about a 6 hour journey but we’ll worth it 😀 A bit like the caravan we can have bbqs or eat in the van or eat out as the mood, weather or bank balance dictates. We will join the caravan club and stay on cl sites.
So today is a new day
Breakfast - mushroom, tomato, scrambled egg, bacon, sausage 1 syn heb toast with of spread 3 syns
dinner - jacket with cottage cheese and salad
tea - stew (beef, potatoes, carrots, swede, and leek) served with red cabbage, beetroot and pickles - should have had this last night but it was in the slow cooker and took forever so had something different instead.
snacks - apple, satsumas, kitkat or crisps if really needed at 5 syns each.
I’m trying to eat bigger meals in a hope it’ll stop the constant snacking I seem to be doing.

milann if I were you I'd also join the Camping and Caravan Club (CCC) as well as the club sites they have CSs (same as CLs) plus the Tempory Holiday Sites (THSs) which gives you a lot more scope for longer breaks throughout the year.  We joined both but prefer the CCC mainly for the weekend meets which you don't usually have to book, although of course because of CV19 you do now need to book to make sure they can social distance the vans.  We now only belong to CCC - we've been members for more years than I care to remember, ever since the kids were teenagers and they are both in their 40s now so we only have to pay £20 a year membership rather than the just over £50 so that saves a bit too.

I agree about actually seeing the MHs in person rather than just online.  You can't tell what it will be like just from the pictures and description.  We're the same as you in that we have to travel to see anything.  The closest place is getting on for an hour's drive away!  I certainly wouldn't want to buy a MH without trying out the seats, beds, making sure there's enough room in the loo and shower etc.

Another thing to consider is how you are going to get around once parked up as it's not always convenient to drive the MH somewhere, although if you're going for a 6m MH or less then probably not a problem as much but ours is 7m so too big to get into most carparks!  We use a scooter and/or buses to get around, as well as walking of course.

Sorry folks for going off piste with this post!

Thanks JD. it will be the smallest of the coach built as we want to keep it on the drive so will 6m. We will probably get a tent to store bbq and picnic chairs on site, travel on buses and only move mh if we really need to. Thanks for the ccc info.
    Sorry I’m off piste too.
So far so good today - just waiting for my jacket potato smells good 👍
It’s as if a switch clicks and I’m on it 100% or off it 100% 😏 Need to give myself a good shake up 👍

Yuk! What a horrible day!  We managed a short walk this morning despite the rain but now the wind is really blowing up. The stew will probably taste better after marinating for a day coxy. 😋 It's perfect stew weather. I had all the ingredients in I needed for Bolognese so that's bubbling away in the SC. I'll leave it overnight (to infuse not cook) and then portion up for the freezer. I need to buy in more pulses before I make chilli so I'll do that at the weekend.

We had the opposite with a courtesy car a couple of years ago. They gave us a Fiat 500 when I'm used to my people carrier. DH said he felt like Noddy in it! 🤣 That was when a deer jumped out at us and our car needed bodywork. As you can't claim from a deer that was why we probably had such a tiny courtesy car. Last year someone hit DH and we had a like for like replacement, much better.

I know nothing about motor homes but I think you're wise to wait until you can visit a showroom milann. I watched a programme a few weeks back about online scams where the actual vehicle didn't exist! Well, it did exist but it was copy and paste from someone else's advert.

I know I've said it before but I think we all need a big pat on the back for keeping going through lockdown.  Great idea to have an exercise  plan for next week klew. I listened to a programme yesterday about people who've gained in the past year. Some were talking about a couple of stone or more. It's about half an hour but you might want to listen to it.
BBC Radio 4 - You and Yours, Call You and Yours: Have you put on weight this last year?

I started today with 8.5 syns left and have used 2. That's it now for the week, syn bank fills up again tomorrow. 😁 I'm planning to ignore syns next week though as going to have whatever I like for my birthday. I will get back on track after the weekend but I know I won't be able to rescue it.

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash, HEB toast, HEA milk, scrambled eggs (P)
    L- veggie stir fry (S), noodles (F)
D- beef slices (P), mash, HB gravy (F), carrots, cauli, broccoli, cabbage (S)
Syns- HP sauce 1, sweet chilli sauce 1

You're probably like me maman you tend to choose wisely most of the time so going off plan now and again doesn't play havoc with getting back on plan afterwards.  What day is your birthday, is it at the weekend or sometime next week?  Are you planning on being on plan the rest of the time or having a whole week off?

Thanks denise. You're right I won't have a problem getting back. It's my birthday on Friday. I'm planning some off plan food then plus my usual weekend wine. What I'm not going to do is cut back on Saturday and Sunday to make up for a greedy Friday. So it's just extra on Friday really. 😊

I'm going to do my best. 😉 We've been lucky up to now. Last year I just got in under the wire and we went out for a meal at my favourite Italian. The next time we ate there was our anniversary in August! OK for DH in September and DD in November. At least picnics are allowed from last Monday. 😁

Hope the weather's nice enough for you to have a picnic then!  It's not forecast to be very nice here unfortunately - more wind and rain!  Enjoy whatever you decide to have for your birthday - fish & chips (with batter!) maybe?
