Yesterday was a spend day as DH & I have taken the plunge & decided to invest in setting up a business. Only £57 spent so far on a piece of equipment, but will need to spend more on tools and stock to get us up and running.
Today will also be a spend day as DH has gone to do a top up shop as we need milk & bread. Will spend some time making a detailed list of what other business items are needed and get them order today so that 1. We can start making and selling products as soon as they arrive and 2. The rest of the week can be spend free.9 -
Hi all
Forgot to post yesterday, had a couple of spends on birthday card for my niece and anniversary card for OH plus a small present for my niece too. All ordered online so no visit to the shops required. Back in work today covering court but mostly sitting on my own which suits me perfectly! The roads still seem really busy though but at least in the court they are being much stricter about enforcing face coverings, which they haven't always done.
Anyway, today should be a NSD as well so that will bring me to 5 so far.6 -
Happy hump day turtlesYesterday got another NSD in the bag now up to 4.Didn't sleep well last night, the minute my head touched the pillow got the most awful headache, then was a night of restless sleep. Think it's just more adjustment to this strange situation.Today tired and even though I had half left of my homemade soup in work, gave in and treated myself to a pork pie. Haven't had one all xmas in my defence. Only ate half rest in fridge for tomorrow. Will have a healthy tea to make up for naughtyness. It tasted sooo good though ;-)Happy forElectrician showing up last night, given him a list of jobs to do so hopefully he will start soon. Also picked up new kitchen cupboard, bought through work so haven't paid yet to be fitted next week.Saw 5 minutes of sunshine, lunchtime walk along the beach.Spotty breakout skin healing up. These facemask do bring out all the impurities !!LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/227

Good luck in your new endeavour, WelshKitty.
NSD No 5
Spoke to my neighbour on the phone today to see if she needed anything. She sounds really ill and now another daughter is showing symptoms and awaiting test results. I hope the others will be OK. They had a family dinner at Christmas with her sister and family so fingers crossed it doesn't get any worse.
I haven't really done too much today. Really must get going properly tomorrow. It's not as if I don't have lots I could be doing.
Believe it or not as well as ice and freezing temperatures there's now a fog starting to come down. Early to bed I think.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -

Good evening Turtles, please may I join you for January? I missed December, sorry, but I'm all organised for this month albeit slightly late.
Jittery or Jitterbug – Jitterbug for me. I regularly look back and I’m happy with my progression through life. Looking forward, finances are always top of the priority list for me.
Ideas – Be creative: I write every day, without fail, to one of my friends. To add to the creativity, I’m going to have a bash at reupholstering two stools.
Thriftiness – Ties in with my top priority of finances. I’m committed to No Spend Days and have currently achieved 6 out of my target of 17 for this month, so far.
Time – this will take the form of gardening for me. I have no idea where to start with our garden and I put my blinkers on every time I leave the house. So today, DH and I went out and spent two hours in the garden cutting back and clearing deadwood, which is a start.
Extras – Exercising is the most difficult part of the challenge for me. However, I’ve just found a zumba for beginners online class and I’ve now completed my first workout for this week. I’ll follow it up to meet the three a week target and aim for a little more.
Revisit – budgets: On the first of the month I calculated what the cost of Birthdays, Xmas, House Insurance, Car Insurance (including service and MOT) usually cost, in total, for the year. I’ve calculated the average monthly cost, and for the first time ever, transferred that amount to a separate account. I’ll commit to doing this every pay day.
Be yourself: that one is already in place for me because I am happy in life. I love my life and those I share it with. I love my job and my home.
Unburden yourself: I don’t carry any burdens. I always acknowledge and try to make right when I’ve done wrong and then I let it go, as otherwise, the weight of my conscience without resolution brings me to my knees. I’m not comfortable living life on my knees.
Gratitude: I am grateful for life itself and the chance to live it. That is with me every moment of every day because I got a second chance at it a number of years ago. I understand how sacred life is.

Today I am grateful for a fair day's teaching, for my workout, for some SNOW this morning, for getting some more of my teeny tiny jigsaw done, for a warm house.

Top up grocery shop today including a couple of yellow stickers means I’m still on 3/15 NSDs. 1500ml water, leftovers for lunch, and OH has made some soup for tomorrow’s. Ate the last of our 0lio collection from November - DS and I devoured the final two crumpets toasted with strawberry jam. I also spent my free fiver from the rainforest retailer on a couple of jars of the peanut butter we regularly buy.
Martin Lewis simultaneously made we want to spend and save at the same time this morning! He was both the little devil and little angel on my shoulders.
In his recent blog featured in the newsletter he talked about his doing more that 20k steps a day! I was so impressed that I went straight online to search for a step counter for myself. Then I stopped. ‘I do not need a step counter,’ I told myself. I’ve had one before and the novelty faded quickly. Same with e-readers, and sun lamps, and coffee makers. At least I’ve now learned to stop and ask myself ‘do I need it’ and ‘will I use it’. I wonder which wise owl suggested that?!
MSE newsletter this morning has also prompted me to review again my direct debits - I’ll take a look at these this week to see if I can do better with internet and streaming services.
Grateful for OH making dinner, central heating, tea!
