@Brie - I've been vaguely wondering about selling a few things that I really don't need in order to declutter and generally capitalise on my packrat tendencies and have also been thinking if I shouldn't go in for selling kitchen equipment on ebay as I quite often see things I've already got one of and know are useful IYSWIM.
I haven't got further than mulling it over but I'm sure that I've seen other posters on this thread say that they've put things on ebay. I don't think there's any reason why one shouldn't sell things on, does anyone else disagree?5 -

I had to pop into a local shop (long story...) and noticed that they had a Poole Pottery Cranborne tea set - teapot, milk jug and 4 cups and saucers. Decent price too. I'm hoping it will still be there on Tuesday when the shop reopens - I don't think it was open today and don't think it would open on Monday either.
I like the Cranborne pattern and we do have a very few plates that i like to use for lunches and goes nicely in the microwave too.
And then I googled it and saw what it's selling for on eb@y!!! I wonder if I will be tempted to resell it? Does anyone do that much??? Ever???
Doesn't always sell at all.
It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
Most of the stuff is BIN (buy it now) rather than a 7 or 9 day auction and could have been listed for years.
I wouldn't buy something that is expensive to sell on eBay.
In fact I've rarely bought anything with a view to selling it on.
I've recently sold half a dozen pieces of 1950s Denby that I've had for at least 25 years - I'm clearing some of my windowsills.
I priced it to sell - at the price I paid for it and cheaper than similar items listed.
Otherwise it would have gone to the charity shop.
I'd buy the Poole and love it and use it - if you will use it (I don't do tea).

My first nod towards winter - a purchase yesterday of a Lands End down gilet in shades of navy, muted pink and lavender in an abstract pattern. Looks new and wonderfully snuggly and will be perfect with jeans. £10 in the Cancer Research shop. So bloomin’ cold here today I might even be wearing it now.10

Oooops....out and about again today...could not resist another autumn/winter buy! This time a Cotton Traders 3/4 raincoat in 'dusky lavender' actually a bluey/greyish colour. (Shame the detachable hood is missing.) It's a size too big but that means it will accommodate a nice chunky sweater or fleece. Chazza price £10....currently selling for £76. Found it online if you would like a squiz

so I came to the conclusion that I couldn’t be bothered and would rather re-donate. I love finding stuff cheap in a CS and seeing how much it would have been new, but I only buy stuff for me.6 -

Meanwhile today I popped into a place and picked up some vinyl for the OH. Only £1 each and perfect condition and so old it was pre LP. So the size of a 78 but to be played at 33. Thomas Beecham conducting Mendelsohn - very nice and did and a good clear sound too!. Advised OH that there was also a stack of Karajan conducting the Berlin Philly on DG - Brahms and Beethoven and only £2. Again - looked good clean ones so those will get picked up when one of us can get back to the shop.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. goldfinches said:@Miró and @DigForVictory - I'll probably only ever use the lemon wraps on the very rare occasions when I take the time to set a beautiful table for myself but, as ever, I can't pass a piece of specialised kit for food without rugby tackling it to the floor and clamouring to be allowed to pay over the odds for it too. I sometimes think that I must have hit every branch on the Lakeland tree, if there is such a plant.
Annoyingly, I tried to visit the Age UK branch early this afternoon and they were shut with a notice on the door saying that they were closed on Sunday (huh?) and I could see a couple of interesting pieces of kitchenalia through the front window! Bah, humbug!
@Potternerd - I have sold precisely one item on Vinted (posted 12) and lost interest. Since then they are advertising a lot more so maybe I should give it another go.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.6 -
Had a very brief firkle around our local charity shops but half were closed and the other half had very little in that interested me - especially as they all seemed to have that one annoying woman who stands in the middle of the aisle, blocking at least three rails and refuses to move whilst she swishes the hangars to and fro for hours....
Popped into one I rarely go into, as it's a bit dowdy - picked up a lovely indian-style pure cotton top with embroidery for a fiver. Al little work opening up the sides to sit properly over my hips and job's a good'un2024 Fashion on the Ration - 10/66 coupons used

She contrived to move the pushchair 3 times to be more in the way each time.
I had to circumnavigate the whole shop to get to the next rail.8
