Oh, that’s pretty!5

That is pretty, I do particularly like the shape of the belly of the teapot.
Here are my latest accumulated finds.
A stainless steel bottle and jar caddy, destined for my bathroom at the moment but may migrate to my kitchen, and a very light melamine chopping board which I'm intending to use for rolling out pastry. The caddy was in Age UK and the chopping board came from my favourite BHF shop.
Then, a lovely sturdy stainless steel pan rack from Oxfam which was quite expensive at £7.99 but worth the trouble of transporting home in my bicycle panniers.
I found the Roald Dahl collection, the silver spoon (10p!), the ice cube tray, the amaretti tin and the garlic roaster in the Sobell House shop after I bothered to go downstairs which other customers weren't doing.
The two pans, the foldable colander and the fridge door Brita jug all came from Age UK and I'm planning to use the white one for sugar syrups to enable me to see the colour changes clearly and the smaller one is to replace a non-stick of mine that has given up the ghost while I wait for the Stellar set I want to come back into stock at Harts of Stur.
I'm really pleased about the Brita jug as our local water is very hard and this should be a big help with the kettle and the iron among other things.

My sister, when she was last Substantially in funds, bought Laura Ashley glasses & has maintained her demure but expensive look by having them reglazed as needed. So today, when I saw a pair of eye-catching sunglasses in a charity shop window, I looked. Then went in & asked if I could try them on. (My birthday isn't til the end of the month but my mother in law's present was burning a hole in my pocket & had already been broken into for domestic usage.)
So I tried them on, & they fitted, & I liked them (as eccentric but effective) & so paid £30.
Imagine my shock to find this eBay listing - not quite my lens colour but $165 & $50 shipping! Wow! Somehow, I suspect my mother in law will be confirmed in her suspicion that I've blown the money on fripperies (sunglasses in September, really!) but I'm delighted!

Had a good day at the chazzers today - picked up another eight books including a pristine hardback copy of the following for 30p each, plus some plastic cutlery draw inserts for 50p each.
No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.8 -

Had a little trip to Halifax, my 1st stop was the Hive shop where I picked up a Tu top for £2.50 just as I was leaving a volunteer said had I looked at the other half of the shop that was behind a low barrier that was their clearance section, I hadn't well it was worth it as everything was 50p, I got a AX dress, 2 Boden tops (how expensive new) one of which is 40% silk, a Bon Marche top, another Tu, a Regetta short zip fleece & 3 m&s tops. Next stop ws the Tia greyhound shop where I picked a nice paid of Maine chinos for a pound & final stop was the Cats protection shop where I found nothing I liked or in my size or was a price I was willing to pay.
Link hopefully to 1 of the boden tops https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114972065442?hash=item1ac4de7ea2:g:KwMAAOSwxfBhK3ws
So quite a bagful for £8

My daughter and I went to a small town not too far away to charity shop. We primarily go for a small independent charity shop that is small but had lots of stuff. The prices were reasonable and we looked forward to going there. Unfortunately it seems to have a new manager and the prices have sky rocketed. ( Ted Baker plastic shopper bag £27.99, pair of Jeans £10) The £1 rail had disappeared and there was a rail of sweatshirts and hoody’s that looked like they had been tightly crammed into bags for months they were so creased. Needless to say we left with nothing and I’m a person who loves charity shops and will buy a lot if the prices are reasonable. The sad thing is we used to go mainly for that shop but always went in the others in town. We won’t bother to go back there any more so all those shops have now lost business. When will these managers realise that this drives people away, not bring more money to their tills9
