Just before Christmas : A Précis stretchy velvet dress with 3/4 sleeves in a lovely dark teal £3. Not sure when I’ll get to wear it.
A karrimor black and pink PE top £1.
A BNWT m and s body shaper £5
A large white bowl with “rice, pasta, salad”written on the rim 75p
And for Christmas DH gave me the Ted Baker handbag I had dropped heavy hints about in the posh CS. Its black croc style leather with a rose gold zip and lined with french bulldog patterned fabric. I love it!
I also dropped off a bagful of donations as I fear we will all soon be in lockdown again.9 -
I cant wait to get out of lockdown
However I was dead lucky the day before we went back into one, picked up a complete set of the original Taggart staring Mark McManus DVDs for £3 and mum loved them as part of her Christmas pressie8 -
Hi everyone,
Looking forward to going into town on Wednesday to see what Charity Shops are open (I'm in Tier 3) as I noticed there was one open the other week. I really need some black trousers so I'm going to see if I can find some thrift ones first as my clothes budget is very tight for next year7 -
Waving very excitedly to all on new Thread.
We have just been catapulted from Tier 2 to Tier 4 on Christmas Eve so I'm going to be reading along to see what others find in order to get my fix and meanwhile I am determined to do some decluttering so that I'm ready to donate when my local shops are able to accept things again.
Glad to hear others found some lovely bargains and received the presents they wanted and good hunting to KatyLovesCats, goldfinches.9 -
thanlyou for the thread still chomping at the bit to get there xonwards and upwards8

First time (and probably last
) for a long time that I had access to a charity shop today! It was the local Hospice shop, one of the few actually open currently. Very pleased with my finds - a Per Una showerproof thigh-length jacket in a gorgeous shade of blue for £4.50, a Regatta (my favourite travel clothes) lightweight half-zip top, looks brand new, in a russet colour for £4, and a Mountain Warehouse small backpack that still had the silicone bag in the bottom for £3. All useful things, and a nice treat after such a long barren period.
Here's to 2021 when hopefully things will eventually pick up. Hopefully another chance for people to have a clear-out in the interim!Used to be Bogof_Babe. It did need updating!9 -
I had a really good chazzer year in 2020, which (for me) took the edge off the rest of it being so difficult. So much joy for not a lot of outlay
No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.11 -
I've bought some bits in the last few days. I got a lovely tapestry table runner in dark gold with a sort of woven diamond design, comes to point at each end with a tassel, it has a sort of medieval look to it which goes well on my 1930's oak table, paid £3 for it. Also got a BNWT Ulster Weavers birdsong tea towel for £1 and I bought some Denby. A while ago I saw a Denby coffee pot that I really loved but they wanted £10 for it, anyway I now have the coffee pot along with 4 cups and saucers for £10, it is the Daybreak pattern. It's the first Denby I've ever bought and don't know how that price stacks up but I just love the misty green colour and it will look fab in our kitchen when we renovate it this year.

Ah. daybreak is pretty! I think £20 for a coffeepot, 4 cups & 4 saucers that you use daily is Wholly Reasonable. The Acquisition committee hold my leash when it comes to pots that get crooned over, identified, logged & boxed up for future eventualities - which isn't unreasonable. All the best finding more, like a teapot, and plates!6
