DigForVictory said:Ah. daybreak is pretty! I think £20 for a coffeepot, 4 cups & 4 saucers that you use daily is Wholly Reasonable. The Acquisition committee hold my leash when it comes to pots that get crooned over, identified, logged & boxed up for future eventualities - which isn't unreasonable. All the best finding more, like a teapot, and plates!
Even better then as I only paid £10. I am on the look out for one of the large jugs and perhaps a teapot and some bowls.

I couldn't find any black trousers so I've had to look on eB*y and V*nted now but nothing, I really don't want to buy them new unless I really have to. Will keep looking. We have been shunted into Tier 4 here now so I guess the charity shops will be shut now. Really miss milling about the plentiful charity shops in my nearest town, it's the little things isn't it.10

Yes it's that buzz when you find something that is perfect, better still if it's on the sale rail! You can see why people (i.e. us) get addicted, and it's far less harmful than other addictions, plus it does good for the charities. Definitely win win.Used to be Bogof_Babe. It did need updating!9

Another little purchase today for DH this time. A seemingly brand new hand knitted wool jumper in a lovely sage green (a favourite colour of mine) it has a sort of stand up open collar so it will look lovely with a shirt - £3.50 paid.I was looking for wine glasses and crochet hooks but didn't find either today.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

The other thing I picked up a few of whilst our CS were open again, several pairs of school uniform shorts and trousers, either still new with tags or barely worn (I think there was a fair amount of stuff bought for kids who then hardly used them after initial lockdown) to put away for DS. He's starting Reception in September. Choice won't come through until April but (fingers crossed no hiccups) all three of our choices take grey uniform trousers or shorts.
I'm always one for thinking ahead and trying to be prepared!

Before we got put into tier 4 on NYE ( AKA the harrying of the north):
A green leather Fossil purse in need of a bit of love £1.50
jane Shilton croc leather square toed loafers£4
A Topshop faux fur lined denim jacket £9.99. Don’t know if others do this but I often find something in a CS and then later find a better version in a CS to replace it. This is my 3rd faux fur lined denim jacket and I feel I have now reached faux fur denim jacket Nirvana. Previous versions have been redonated.
So, now I’m effectively in lockdown again I’m going to have another clear out, take lots of walks in my lovely Seasalt coat and continue to work through my stash of actual and Kindle books and wait for better days.10 -

I went into a bookshop in our town yesterday, it opened the week before the first lockdown in March but has managed to weather the storm so far. It is run by ex teachers and the man was telling us about all the groups they plan/planned to run for kids when they can but one thing they are currently doing is taking in school uniform as donations which people can then go in and take, fabulous idea as it is all free, covers all the local schools and saves so much waste.

Those Topshop jackets were expensive new and always expensive second hand, DD wanted one for a long time but could never find an affordable one.

I mean, even for the nursery/preschool my two attend, I asked in their FB group for anyone with outgrown stuff I could buy, ended up being given a batch along with other clothes for my DD (they have three girls, youngest is four months older than DS) as well.
Meh, I can't fix everything unfortunately.Credit Card & Overdraft Debts Jan 2012: £16,000+ [STRIKE] Credit Card & Overdraft Debts Sep 2013: £13,023 [/STRIKE]

A local cs was given several bags and of one I said "that's school uniform stuff". The lovely assistant beamed at me & said "well, it'll only be here a few minutes then!"
One year an assistant gently drew my husband's attention to a suit & murmured "You did know it's Prom soon? It just seemed tall enough" (it was indeed cut for the very tall & thin type) & a quick flurry of texts later, one son was dressed impeccably. Since then, Prom suits & all still usable school uniform items (especially school logo sports stuff) are custom bagged for donation unless the wearer takes a particular liking to the suit and/or has stopped growing!
Scouts stuff I admit I return to our Scouts, who have an active resale program & are firm on anyone laughing at a shirt being a bit big. I appear to have 5 Explorer shirts when I only had 2 Explorer scouts but I can recall one St Georges Day prep where I was desperately stitching the basic identity markers onto a blank shirt as his usual shirt had absconded from view. Noone seemed to notice other than me, but that was fine. I'll swing them through the wash in case & message a leader as to how to add it to their stock!8
