I'll have a look in the local (very much non Yorkshire) BHF. And I've decided I need an intervention. Stopped in a charity shop to ask (again) if there was any hat boxes and to look for toast racks....nothing. But 2 lovely silk scarves.... I must be stopped!!!
Also got a nice boxed set of old butter knives with those 1940s/50s green handles. They also had a set of apostle spoons but they're not as nice as the ones we already have and aren't really required.
We do constantly run out of butter knives. BUT I don't think I can give them to OH for Christmas as I think I've already got more than enough for him. So I expect I will save them for Valentines. As long as I can hide them and then remember that I've got them tucked away. I'm sure none of you incredibly organised individuals ever do something so silly as forgetting where you have put a future present.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. as for the “put in a Safe Place”, the only year I found Everything for Christmas stockings was the year my “fate accomplice” exhumed my every stash. Thorough little blighter, he even found things stashed three years previously, Ahem!Sometimes posting yourself things helps.7 -
Brainwave! I've put a "meeting" in my work calendar for Sat 6th Feb! I actually have very few meetings at work but my calendar is chock full of reminders to do various things.
@DigForVictory
Are you suggesting I rid myself of a scarf or ten? Seriously!!??!?! You obviously don't understand how big a problem this is!!! (another meeting note to take time to sort and take a photo of the accumulated collection.....)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
