And then there was my OH sitting on the floor in a shop yesterday as all the LPs were on the bottom shelf. There was a good natured grumble with the woman working there about the fact that it's older people who like classic vinyl and the LPs are always somewhere awkward. But 5 perfectly "new" LPs for a tenner. Hours of listening pleasure.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Popped into one I rarely go into, as it's a bit dowdy - picked up a lovely indian-style pure cotton top with embroidery for a fiver. Al little work opening up the sides to sit properly over my hips and job's a good'un9 -

I'd rather stick red hot needles under my fingernails than take my OH shopping.
Luckily, he feels the same.
When we go to a different city for a change of drinking scene, I catch a much earlier bus, wizz round the charity shops and meet in the pub later.
Happy days for both of us.
<steps down from soapbox>
Our Age UK have a bit of a sale on summer clothes and I found a lovely Debenhams black & cream jersey short sleeved dress.
It has a plain black yoke and a geometric print bottom with a different geometric print for the bottom 9 inches. It will be lovely in the winter with black opaques, flat black boots and a short cardigan. £2.00 reduced from £5.00.
And a pair of TU navy leggings, still with the circular inspection label on. £2.00

Charity shops are the only ones I enjoy with my OH. I'm not sure which I hate more - being dragged along for clothes shopping or going to Ikea. Fortunately OH buys shoes online so I'm not subjected to that particularly heck.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Not even for food.
I shop at Aldi, OH goes to Tesco armed with a very detailed list.
I can understand charity shopping with your OH if it's enjoyable (for you both) but Miro was on about taking men who clearly dislike shopping.
I saw several of them today at Aldi, slumped over the trolley, head down whilst the OH ranged far and wide up the aisles.9 -

Uniqlo supima cotton long sleeved t-shirt stylee thingy in pale pink. Never heard of supima before but its very fine and very soft...ideal for layering under a jumper in winter I imagine...99p
John Lewis 'Collection' summer dress, sleeveless in navy with pink & orange ditsy flowers crawling all over it. Looks b/n & also 99p. (My task tonight will be to let down and re-hem the, for once, generous hem as it's just a touch shorter than I'd like.
An industrial sized reel, (are they called a 'cop'(?), of extra strong thick white thread. Looked like they were selling off the remains of a curtain making business.....20p
First two items from the Otley St Gemma's Hospice shop - thread from the weird 20p shop!!
Yesterday's find has left me with a dilemma. The community chazza had a sale rail which held a beautiful jacket, tailored a bit like a man's jacket but slightly longer, with nipped in waist and nicely fitted round the bazooms. Sand coloured with leather 'football buttons - from Austin Reed in woollen worsted fabric with a label proudly proclaiming 'Made in England". Original chazza price £4.50 but reduced to £2.25. Could not resist it at that price as I seem to be into tailored stuff at the mo. But, despite me giving it a good squiz over in daylight.....when I got home I noticed half a dozen teeny tiny holes in the wool fabric
. I have never seen moth holes so tiny and so perfectly round before but I can't think what else it could be. I think I could fix the holes but I wonder if it's worth it - would I be risking the pesky critters invading other things?? I have the jacket entombed in a sealed plastic bag til I decide what to do. I cannot do the freezer trick as I don't have a freezer - is there any other way of repelling the monsters?? Or should I just dump the jacket what what little it cost? Sorry for the long ramble.....

I have read through the thread and am obsessed with charity shops at the moment. In the last few weeks I have got two pairs of hotter shoes (£8 and £7), a cotton traders pair of shoes (£11), a Radley bag (£10), a Debenhams coat that I had been eying up a few years ago (£8), shoes for my mum (£6), a Ralph Lauren shirt for my sister (£5) and some bits for my diying. I have forced myself to stop until I have at least put my new things away. Ha!
@Miró I don't know anything about moths, but a quick Google suggests putting it in the oven at a low heat. I have no idea if that would work but here's the link https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/blog/how-to-get-rid-of-clothes-moths/9 -
I had a great session at my local chaz after work this afternoon: 2 work blouses (one Per Una, the other Viyella), a full length summer dress, a smart sleeveless cape, necklace and a thick history book for my little niece for just £11. I had a tough day at work but left the chazzer absolutely delighted! (Even though technically 3 of my 5 buys were workwear
).
No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.7 -
@Miró If it were me I would return it, and would point out the potential moth attack. You have acquired some lovely things, and it would be a shame for them to be spoilt.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
