I spent £26.33 this week mainly on fruit and veg at Sains and Asda. I also treated myself to a large halibut steak from the fishmonger, who assured me it had come straight off the boat that morning. It is lasting me two meals and a lot cheaper than getting fish and chips. Last night I had it with a jacket potato, carrots and broccoli, and tonight I'll top it with herby breadcrumbs in the oven with cubed potatoes, tomatoes and more broccoli.Grocery challenge 2025: £650/1500 annual budget6

Aldi now open again, after the floods. Went for nappies and wipes, plus a couple of other bits, also farm foods again for milk. Spent £26.58, total now for the year exactly £189/£2750. Hopefully only need milk now for the rest of the month. mumtoomany.Frugal Living Challenge 2025.6

We have spent £140.50 so far (annual is £3000, monthly average is £200) and I expect only to have my weekly milkman bill this week (£5.90). Stores are over the average with £62.50/£400. Not perfect as the coffee we use as our every-day is on a subscription for mid Feb and we will run out before then. You should have seen DH when I suggested we use up something else (lots of beans in store!)
I've had a bit of a sort out in the chest freezer but it really needs more attention when the new fridge freezer is up and running in my toolshed - I want to reorganise it a bit as there isn't room for all my baskets - an indication there is too much in store. We have only shopped twice this month - once for fruit and veg and one click and collect SM. I reckon we can do the same in Feb.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Hi, I did my last January shop on Friday at Aldi and my monthly total was £153.09 out of a £200 budget so really pleased. I didn’t need pet food this month as I buy bigger bags but that comes in around 25 so I would still have been under budget. It’s payday for me next Friday so my new budget will start then. I’m hopeful to come in under £200 again 😁

Sigh - I knew it was too early to declare! £10.70 spent at the market this morning, on bananas (I'll swear there were about 12 on Friday; there was just 1 this morning) broccoli, bread, a pineapple, shallots (not strictly speaking needed, but extra-good in curry) and cheese, as he hadn't had his delivery when I went on Friday. I do have some in the freezer but wanted to keep it there in case we have to isolate. But that really is IT now until payday, so I'm declaring for January at £412.53; £12.53 over budget but not despairing, just a little peeved.Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)5

Afternoon all, haven't been in a shop since Thursday so haven't spent anymore from the grocery budget. Will have to buy some lemonade tomorrow and maybe some veg later in the week but hopefully that will be it until Feb.Grocery Challenge 2024

Last spend of the month takes me to £196.89 so almost bang on target.
I'm finding booking slots and filling to minimum order to be very tiring, compared to actual shopping, and am toying with living off my stores for Feb. I have tinned fruit/veg and vitamins, as well as lots of grains and pulses. Or, I could tackle the lockdown tummy and use up the supplies of diet meals I have... think I have a month or so sitting.
I'll probably decide when I see how hungry I feel tomorrow morning. But it can be very nice to have a break from cooking etc and spend the time knitting and reading instead...2021 GC £1365.71/ £24005 -
Small shop at Tesco yesterday following OH clear Covid result, just the bits I'd hoped to get at the greengrocers -£6.44
Also just realised my budget for Jan is £490 not £450 🤦♀️🤦♀️ I'm doing an average of £17.50pd (£2 less then 2020). So I'm at £383.21/£490 - £106.79 for the week, definitely doable!June Grocery Challenge £0/£250
