  • Well done @Pixiehouse55! Just noticed all three of your signature non-mortgage debts are now £0 - that's what this is all about!
@Suffolk_lass. Thank-you!! It felt like it took forever but yes all debts gone now.what we paid on debts is now going on our mortgage. Hubby can retire in July, we are hoping to sell up, buy our narrowboat and live the slow life on the canals. Fingers crossed!! Food bills then should be very low as it will be me, him and our 2 dogs X

Well we did it! with change left over and a 5 week month. DH decided to spend a chunk at the farm shop on his way home. I really cannot complain the produce is excellent and we are trying to cut out carp i.e buying a desert or cake and the fruit will last longer. The left over £5.79  has been been stashed and change gone into the change savings tub.(this tub paid for 75% of our christmas pressie to us  )
    see you in February

Lost my collection slot with 0lio to a charity so may see a slight increase in our grocery spends next month.
Spent £18.04 in Ald! today getting fruit, bread products, crisps and frozen sweetcorn.
I'm currently at £221.99/£350 will declare properly over the weekend just in case we need to buy anything else.
Going to aim to whittle down the freezer contents during Feb and then make a decision about replacing our little freezer, 2 drawers are broken and it's not frost free so I'm debating buying a chest freezer rather than spending out replacing the broken drawers.

  • Came under for January, not sure whether this was due to nothing being due from S&S on Amazon, or coincidence.Probably also to do with not being able to get any delivery slots available.
As it was Payday yesterday this takes me into Feb.
I will try and catch up on this thread later. Famous last words  :/

  • Hi
On Monday 25 Jan I spent £16.23 at the local shop. This makes my total £103.61/£120.
This challenge has shown me how often I do an unplanned shop at the local shop. This was a planned shop, I gave my self £20 for this shop so was pleased at spending less.

Last shop for January I hope, spends of £85.97 and £18.11 coming to a total of £270.28/£375.00.  Could have been less this month but I am really pleased, if I hadn't been watching my spending it would have been more.  Thank you for this thread

  • Morning all. Declaring for the month now, done well I think. I have lived off what I already had, did shops whenever necessary and have come in under budget which I'm very happy about. Now to do the same next month!
    January's total: £93.04/£140.00
So that's £46.96 in the pot!
