January 2021 Grocery Challenge

Declaring a January grocery spend of £265. The goal was £300 so very pleased with that. Managed it by munching our way through the freezer contents which is now empty – so not sure if we will keep on track next month. Will have to get inventive - any advice welcome!
The plan now is to shave £20 off the February goal and make it £280. The £20 projected February underspend and January’s £35 underspend will go into my new (Monzo) pot called “stock the store cupboard“ to be dipped into for whoopsies and bulk buys found on offer.

Declaring at £137.70/£140, leaving £2.30 to carry over to February
Good morning everyone.
Never work for an employer who has a December year end - January has been a horribly busy month! I have completely lost track of where everyone is and what you are all up to. I’ve also lost track of the spends I’ve told you about and the ones I haven’t. All I know for certain is that there was £2.30 left in the Grocery Challenge purse when we took the housekeeping out on Friday.
Hopefully February will be better.

Morning all,
I'm currently standing at £228.02/£350 reduced from £450 per month last year.
I'll declare later as I'm going to pop to the shop shortly. I've got some coupons that expire today and I'll use the products that they're for so makes sense to save a few pence.Grocery Challenge 2024

Condolences wishus
Well, I've been considerably over at £414 with a target of £320, however I have learned lessons. I'm going to reduce my monthly amount to £280 next month so 4 x £70 and start putting the extra into a bulk fund as that's what's hit the budget this month. I had two big spends of £88 for cat food and £36 for loo roll, both of which should last us well over a month (although the cats do seem to be getting through their food at an astonishing rate with one of us always home) See everyone over on the February thread.Mortgage Free 23 December 2020
