My Yorkshire Energy Switched on 1st January to Scottish Energy and I immediately transferred it to Octopus
Scottish Energy account now shows me "We're sorry to see you go."
Had a phone call 6th Jan from Scottish Energy persuading me to stay.
My Octopus account says meter reading required on 13th Jan and will switch on 18th Jan.

I'm in the same position as @alco_pop. Just checked WPD's site and my supplier shows as YE.  I received the email that @BedrockFred did last night.  Shame, I cancelled the DD on 7th December.  I feel like I'm stuck and at the bottom of the pile.  Interesting comments from a PP (sorry not to remember their name) about SP switching meter readings on Economy 7 tariffs.  They did this to us back in 2009/2010 or thereabouts.  It was a nightmare to sort and I said I'd never use them again.
Now I feel completely stuck and my stress levels are through the roof with trying to teach remotely as well as covering key worker & vulnerable kids in person in a classroom with all windows & doors open and it's -2 degrees.  This is just the icing on the cake.

As I have an hour before I need to go into school, I was hoping to do some research and initiate a switch.  Could some of the more learned people here advise me whether or not now is a good time to look?  In short: looking for an economy 7 electricity only tariff.  In credit of c£200 with YE but have paid nothing since 29th November so SP will probably have used that up.  Thanks in advance

Just received email saying Can we persuade you to stay with our exclusive tariff?
So switch started on 1/1 to Neon Reef electric is progressing.
It seems that updating the gas database is taking much longer as neighbours is still showing Daisy.

Gas continues to be a thorn for the escape committee's plans.  Like groundhog day it is showing the same as it did since I started checking back in mid-late December!

It's 1 month today since i last heard from SP.
They have not switched either utilities and no emails since 7th Dec.
What on earth are they doing.!!
Is there any authority that i can make a complaint to?

Very disappointed with how this has been handled. Scottish Power have put me on a Tarif called Energy Exclusive which you cannot select this Tariff on the Cheap Energy Club to do a comparison, it is not visible and I cannot find what tariff is closest to it so when I am doing a comparison I cannot get a fair one as my Tarif still says Yorkshire Energy tariff that I was on. I am furious with their handling of this and cannot believe that they have been able to take over our accounts.

Having checked the national database, both my gas and electric are listed as Daisy Energy or Yorkshire Energy although Scottish Power say that my gas has already switched and they are awaiting the electric to go through. So annoying as I use a lot of energy and they are charging a lot more.

I contacted SP and they told me this:

Your current tariff details are -

    Tariff Name - Energy Exclusive

Primary unit rate - 14.747 pence per KWh
Daily standing charge - 22.740 pence per Day
    Gas:
Primary unit rate - 2.547 pence per KWh
Daily standing charge - 22.220 pence per Day

With YE I was on the Green Ribblehead - Fixed until 31st August 2021 tariff.

    Gas:
    Unit rate 2.437p per kWh
    Standing charge 8.839p per day

    Elec:
    Unit rate 12.854p per kWh
    Standing charge 22.788p per day

I instigated my electricity switch to Neon Reef yesterday and already have the 'sorry to see you go' message in my SP account.  Fortunately I had reduced my DD amount before that happened - the option to do that has gone now.  Now think I will have a bigger bill from SP than my remaining credit with YE so hopefully all will shake out in time now

Yes I'm also still waiting for gas to be updated, although as I have said already, last weekend there was a message on my SP account saying we are working to transfer your gas supply, but then that disappeared, which led me to think that they thought it was complete and it was just a matter of waiting for the gas database to be refreshed. I think that was on Sunday, however it's now Thursday and it's still showing Daisy energy.

There isn't much point doing the research now if you aren't going to start a switch now. The situation is very fluid with tariffs changing regularly. I don't think you'll have any luck switching until SP is listed as your supplier.

https://www.enwl.co.uk/forms/who-is-my-supplier/ is a very unhelpful site.  In my case it didn't give a URL and quoted a rip-off 0845 phone number costing up to 70p per minute.
    Powercut 105 is much better.
