Green.energy gave the 7th Jan right from the start. No discussion or anything. I’m wondering if there isn’t a mandatory 14 day cooling off period when a company goes busy and a SOLR is involved. No matter, I’m happy to have escaped!

Seems they are ok with supplying energy during the cooling off period:
"2.3.1 You will always have the right to a Cooling Off Period, even if your switch to Green takes 14 days or less. If you contact us within this period to request cancellation of your switch, we will either withdraw your application or transfer your supply back to your original provider. In either case, you will remain in contract with your current provider and will not be charged by Green provided that you inform us of your wish to cancel within the Cooling Off Period."

Great news! I applied to switch to Green.energy on 30 December. The switch was initially rejected the same day, so they re-applied the next day and quoted 7 January as the live date. It has gone through! Western Power Distribution shows Green Energy Supply as my supplier. All along I expected a problem. My gas supply goes live with Green.energy on 16 January. I don't know how they managed to switch my electricity over in 7 days though.

Thanks for this info. Did you go through Cheap Energy Club, using YE as your current supplier?

It doesn't matter who you enter as your current supplier - it is used to calculate savings only. There is some previous discussion around the best SP tariff to use as the MSE tool hasn't been updated to include Exclusive Energy Online. It would be worth using more than one comparison site, e.g. Citizen's Advice as well, as people have been getting limited/weird results from MSE. Have you checked your current supplier on the national database?

@masonic I’m not sure who that question is directed at. Green.energy is my current supplier for electricity on the national database. I used a few comparison sites, MSE, Which? and CA and although there were other small suppliers who came up a little cheaper, I didn’t want to use them. I’d read good reviews of Green so they were my preferred choice. I was lucky to get their Sturgeon tariff which was withdrawn a couple of days later.

I had no idea this was possible or how to do it.
Is "exclusive energy online" the tariff i will be on?

It was directed at ortolickus, who I quoted.

Suggest you have a read through of the posts in this thread from the last week or so. Your local energy distributor will normally have a search tool on their website to find your supplier. It should now be SP, if it is then as far as the industry is concerned your switch is complete. Energy Exclusive Online is the tariff ex-YE customers have been put on. Some comparison sites have it, others don't.

for people trying to check their current supplier status:-

gas - https://www.findmysupplier.energy/webapp/index.html#   is a direct lookup and will show you the actual supplier

electric - https://www.enwl.co.uk/forms/who-is-my-supplier/  will show who your area's network distributor is, and you'll have to go to their site to check who your electric supplier is. Note that some (SP Energy Networks) DO NOT have an address lookup tool on their site..
    ......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

Mine is showing still as Daisy energy for gas and Yorkshire Energy for electric. I also have no account setup yet either for SP. So still stuck
