Topcashback are offering 40 quid cashback if you do a dual fuel switch, today only. Might be if interest to people in a position to switch away from SP.
  • Checking my account at Avro things seem to be progressing, also nice to see Avro have an option to make additional payments by debit or credit card, like that option as I have a cash back CC and if we use more energy than expected I can keep things on track rather than finding out I owe a large amount, I always like to keep a bit of a buffer on my energy accounts

    BedrockFred,

Can I ask whether (1) you applied for dual fuel? (2) when were your electricity (and gas) showing (on the supply databses) as being provided by SP?

You couldn't make it up, but they do. Having sorted out my transposed E7 readings yesterday, today they have taken the readings off the photos I supplied 2 days ago, updated the account, and transposed the readings again.
I've emailed them again. I'm losing the will to sort this out. I may just say sod it and pay night rate during the day and argue the toss if it ever comes to light.

Just instigated a switch to Neon Reef scheduled to complete on 27/1.  SP became my provider on the national database on 30/12 so even if the 28 day rule still gets applied I should be OK.
Does anyone know if my YE credit balance will be used to help pay what I owe SP or do I have to pay SP first then get the YE credit balance back from them later?  Or does that depend on whether YE get final bills out before I switch away from SP?  Bit worried 'cos when I left Together Energy (what a disaster area they are) I had to go to the Ombudsman to get my credit back.

I can't answer your question, but SP allowed me to reduce my DD to £10 a month, (due to COVID), so I took advantage of that and hope I get some of my money back quicker that way.
This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

My initial thoughts were positive after the breeze and BG saga. But now SP are taking the royal pee.
There is more YE complaints on twitter at them as well.

My avro switch is moving forward nicely and like others I now have the sorry to see you go banner on SP. I have given up trying to understand SP's lack of efficency and communication. I have more emails from Avro in two days than I have from Scottish Power in a month!

I'm still not fully registered with SP. Followed the link on the 7th of December, only I was foolish enough not to give them my DD details. I've contacted them twice since, asking to set up my DD. Had a reply from them on FB on 30/12, "We have received your details from Yorkshire Energy and your account will be set up fully as soon as we can. Your account number is ********. We will issue you with a welcome pack shortly with all the relevant details you require for your contract with Scottish Power."
Well, nothing since. I've installed their app, which at first was saying "we expect to start supplying energy on the 15th of January 2021" only to change to 6th of December 2020 a couple of days later.
Yorkshire energy is still my supplier according to the database.
Expect a huge bill in the end, given the fact that it's been quite cold recently, so we used more gas. 🙄
I feel sorry for anyone who is struggling as it is, since SP is not going to be cheaper. I wish people weren't switched to tariffs that are more expensive than their existing ones.

Yes applied for dual fuel and both elec and gas showed on the Db 2nd Jan, elec was before then on the 31st Dec I think
Checking on my SP account online and via the app both Elec and Gas meter readings and anywhere to input them has gone, there never was a reading for Gas but Elec reading was the one I supplied on the 7th December
  • You couldn't make it up just received this from SP
