Your new supplier will not be able to submit an advanced registration for your supply until it shows as SP. If you initiate a switch away, this will cause it to fail, but the new supplier can retry, theoretically up to the day before your switch is due to complete. If you are desperate to get away, don't mind spending some time on the issue, and your supplier is willing to keep retrying, then this is a possible route to leave ASAP. Otherwise, the database updates once a day, so keep checking.mwt_2 said:
It still shows "Daisy", I assume this means I haven't yet been switched? And therefore, cannot yet initiate a switch away?masonic said:mwt_2 said:I haven't had anything for SP other than the initial email to fill in my details, which I did. Is it safe to start a switch now? How do I check if the switch to SP has completed? I have no login details for SP, nothing.Find out who your local energy distributor is, most have a search tool on their website.

getting fed up of waiting now.... reduced my SP DD amount to £20, they have my meter numbers showing, but despite the YE closing read/SP opening read having showed up in my YE account before it was blocked off SP still do not have the opening read showing. I'm waiting to pull the trigger on a switch, but still don't trust SP not to screw up my large YE closing credit balance.........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

Good luck! My electricity switch to Green has just been rejected for the second time since the National Powergrid database started showing my supplier as SP on 30 December. I'll ask Green to try yet again, but I'm not holding my breath.masonic said:Given nobody else has reported issues with their switches, I've taken the plunge today and started mine. Will report any problems, but I'm fairly confident there won't be any.

I have a credit of £67 with YE but have decided that am not going to wait for the refund which might take forever. SP is showing as my supplier for both, so will start a switch. Switching bother leccy n gas separately seems to be better for me. Choices-
Leccy-
1) PFP: Saves me £190/yr. Very cheap tariff similar to YE, so not sure if they can survive
2) Symbio energy. Saves me 140 but poor feedback with billing
3) Neon Reef. Saves me 135. Feedback ok. Looking good
Tempted to go for PFP but sounds risky. Any suggestions please....
Thanks
Gas
Zog
Or BG. Very little difference
I wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T0 -
I've just switched to Neon for electric,14.3p kwh 12.1 sc and been with Zog for 6 months no problem. Both aren't bothering with smart meters so far but I prefer to do my own reads anyway and photograph at the same time. Trust pilot scared me off Symbio , BG and SP so I'll try again with the small companies, Ebico and Solarplicity are some of my past failed companies. You will definitely get your refund................eventually.

Developments....
I submitted 31 Dec readings to SP and have just been on the account and have a bill and a new balance of -£90.16. Weirdly the Electric is about £80 but the Gas is only £5.75 (plus VAT of £4 ish)...only wish I really only use £5 worth of Gas in December 😂 Says it's for period 6-31 Dec. Unfortunately PDF version is still pending so can't see actual meter readings that they are using...but it's progress of a sorts.
Edit: My energy usage for Electric is showing but not Gas yet so I reckon Gas figure above is just the SC (23p x 25 days = £5.75 so about right). Also from the Electric usage I can work out they've used my 30 Nov figure I supplied to YE as starting figure and not the one I supplied on 7Dec in response to their email. The calc of the total for Elec does seem to agree with the expected unit rate and SC based on that usage.
Also they have the DD down as due to be taken on 1 Feb0 -

The previous meter readings displayed on our accounts were the last we provided to YE, so it sounds like they still haven't entered the readings provided around 7th Dec. So the bills are being calculated based on the information on the system at the time, meaning they will need to be revised. I can no longer see the meter readings on my account after submitting a switch away from SP.Shedman said:Edit: My energy usage for Electric is showing but not Gas yet so I reckon Gas figure above is just the SC (23p x 25 days = £5.75 so about right). Where was the message showing from SP as I've not got any messages like that on my account yet? Who did you go with? In the end I went with Simplicity (as it was about the cheapest fixed deal supplier that seemingly didn't have dire reviews...although I'm not keen on their £50 per utility exit fee). Fingers crossed it's not out of the 🍳 and into the 🔥masonic said:uptdale said:
