I phoned the number on the Scottish Power information page for YE customers. The advisor gave me my account number which allowed me to register an online account on the website.NINJA59 said:How have people managed to log in to these accounts? I have heard nothing from SP since the original email!
I have checked the electricity and seen that is now with Scottish Power. Direct Debit has been setup, but no further information. It is for me turning into another Breeze to British Gas catalogue of shambolic idiocy.0 -
You’re even further than me.bagpussofsussex said:Hi All,
I'm way behind the curve on this - the original emails early in December went into my spam so I picked this all up later. I wrote down a meter reading on 22nd December, and clicked through the 'allow DD information to be sent through' on about 23/12/20. There's a DD set up with my bank to Scottish Power but nothing has been taken (my YE DD would have gone on the 1st). The DD has an account number on it, so I have been able to set up a scottish power online account but it just says 'under way' and won't let me put in a meter reading. I've checked who the current gas and electricity supplier is for my house, and it's still showing as YE. I've tried to call them just now to see if the meter reading from 22nd December is useful, first of all it rang for ages then dropped to 'number not recognised', then just rang and rang, then I got 'lines are busy', and just now I got 'our lines are closed for the festive period'.
I'm not planning on staying with SP, so I guess it's onto the comparison sites I go.... watching this thread with interest as most here seem to be a bit further forward
Heard nothing since initial email from SP in supplying bank details etc no DD set up.
It shows Cadent as gas supplier, but nothing for electricity.0 -
No, that's your gas network operator. If you're using the ENA site, you need to scroll down to 'Who is my gas or electricity supplier?'.Stonesmike said:

There was a link quite a few pages back that links to a 3 page pdf on the SP website that shows a map of the supply areas and the kwh rate for gas and electricity . Using this energy exclusive tariff list I found my electric to be 15.8 p per kwh with a 20 p per day standing charge which is much more than YE and my new supplier Neon.

If you are owed money because your Yorkshire Energy account was in credit, please don’t worry. Once we receive your meter readings, we’ll work closely with Yorkshire Energy to ensure your account with them is closed down properly and any remaining credit balance is added to your new ScottishPower account or issued to you by cheque.

Fabulous thank you for that information!masonic said:
Check the national database through your energy distributor. If this is showing as SP, then you should be ok to start a switch.rooster47 said:Just checked, my gas and electric supplier registered as SP. Logged on to my SP account, balance nil. Clearly SP haven't totally sorted opening my account. Can't find any detail of any details regards the YE switchover either.Q. Am I in a position to initiate a switch to a n other energy supplier?
If you can obtain the reference for the DD, that is your account number. It can be used to register an online account at SP.NINJA59 said:How have people managed to log in to these accounts? I have heard nothing from SP since the original email!

I have just checked and BOTH our gas and electricity are now with Scottish Power.
I think I might kick off the process of a switch to Avro.0 -
Given nobody else has reported issues with their switches, I've taken the plunge today and started mine. Will report any problems, but I'm fairly confident there won't be any.

I've been able to log into my account today, and view my account number. It says it's still in the process of switching electricity, and not showing my credit balance being bought across.
Gas supply is saying its with Daisy Energy using Find my supplier, but the meter readings are with SP.
Telling me its switching electric, but where can I find my supplier for this?
If I switch without seeing my credit balance appear on SP, will it follow me to the new supplier if I choose to switch today?

I assume that you have been updated on the Gas DB now? When did it show SP for you? Mine still on Daisy today. Yes you will probably know of problems fairly quickly. Would appreciate keeping all of us aprised.masonic said:Given nobody else has reported issues with their switches, I've taken the plunge today and started mine.
