Do you think it's still possible even at this stage? The quicker I can move from SP the better.

The quicker I can move from SP the better. My original "switch" date shown on my online account (before they fudged it to say they'd be taking over from 6th December) was tomorrow. So I think you'll be way too late to get in before SP, but only slightly too early to start the next switch. But if you try and fail, you just have to either convince your new supplier to keep trying, or try starting a new switch after SP is listed as your supplier on the national database. The risk is that your new supplier doesn't communicate a failed switch to you promptly enough, and you miss the earliest opportunity to start a switch that will succeed.Online accounts are now working again, BTW0

Been chasing up SP via messenger. They've now given me an a/c no & a login link. This says they will be taking over wef 17 Jan and have my MRs (presumably the ones I gave on 7 Dec) BUT.... they've got my address wrong!!!!! You couldn't make it up. I know it's a difficult time of year with staffing down due to Covid & Christmas and I'm trying to be patient and not get stressed but it's proving very difficult.0

I see the meter reading history (via the View your Tariff link) has now disappeared from my YE account...glad I downloaded them.1

Right sod this I am not waiting any longer. No login details, no communication from SP at all other than setting up the direct debit. I would have just gone for a switch straight away but took the advice from here that I should wait. I am not waiting any longer, going to request the switch now.
I don't understand how they can just dump people onto a tariff we did not agree to. Surely we are under no legal obligation to pay for something we did not legally sign up to in the first place? I have no legal relationship with SP, I have never signed a document from them, I have never communicated with them in any way, so surely I can't be liable for being dumped on a ridiculous tariff that I had no involvement in selecting!

It doesn't ask, I believe it is just done by address. I just went with Avro as they were the cheapest with no early exit fee (and second cheapest overall for me by £1) so I can switch again without penalty if/when prices come down again.

Those starting a switch, please keep us updated as to how you get on. Good luck

Much as I do want to switch away from Scottish Power ASAP, I am mindful of my own experience last year when Breeze went bust and British Gas became my SOLR. Breeze went bust last year and BG were declared the SOLR by Ofgem on December 22nd 2019. I kept getting rejections (SOLR day + 15, + 25, +29) re a transfer to my preferred choice of Yorkshire Energy (oh how ironic this now seems). It was not until early/mid February that both accounts were finally transferred. What I did not do at the time was to check 'Who is My Supplier?' on the industry databases. I can only assume (based on my experience last year) that ATM all the meter points and their accompanying addresses, are in a 'system lock' such that no other supplier can now get in. The experiences of a few might suggest that SP/Ofgem have been slow in submitting the necessary information to the independent industry organisations ( and their databases).
The only other thing to add is that getting credit back (only about £50 in my case) might prove troublesome if you never show up on SP's system as a customer! I am therefore going to stick it out for a little longer and would rather that my first switch application away from SP is a successful one.
But as masonic states above, any updates on unrejected transfers would be good to hear irrespective on when they take place. I generally got to hear within 24 hours last year of the initial rejections from BG to YE. Based on last year I am hoping that we all have the opportunity in early January to set the transfer ball rolling for those that wish it.0
