Via DM on twitter, I've been told Scottish Power customer services what my new account number is (like some others on here), but they also said I am now free to start a switch if I choose. Does this sound right to you, I'm a bit sceptical. My supplier is still listed as Daisy (Yorkshire Energy) at UK per networks. If I login to Scottish power using that new account number, it says my transfer to them is still in progress.0

1 - you are still a customer of the bust company, in which case any credit or debit will be passed over to the new company during the transfer of accounts so it's relatively seamless. However it cna be a bit more fraught if you hadn't kept your bills & readings up to date and taken readings when the company went bust.
2 - you transferred away a few days or weeks before they went bust but are still waiting your final bill. Your account doesn't actually get transferred so it come down to the administrators to to work out who owes what to whom and the final bill and associated credit or debit get passed over to the SoLR who then issue the bills and pay the credit or collect the debit. This seem to take at least three months and can be a lot longer depending how quickly the administrator gets on with it and how good the bust companies records were.
Bear in mind the SoLR immediate problem is to sort out all the transfers from existing customers as well as those who trying to escape as soon as they can and cant do much about sorting out ex customers until they get the info from the administrators
TBH dont expect to see your credit back much before March but it's worth giving them a motivational prod around the end of January if you haven't heard anything

I was YE customer. I have cancelled my YE Direct Debit. My bank now has a DD set up for SP, not claimed yet. I was in credit with YE. Would someone know if I have done the right thing, I am quite worried. I worked along the lines that cancelling the DD with YE ( had a day or so before sent Meter Readings) that no further monies would go to YE. I am lead to believe I have to establish an account with SP to get refund, and switch. At this stage my intention is to switch the moment my account is established. Does this sound right? Is there anything else I should be aware off, any further pitfalls!!!! That may react their ugly heads? I agree with another forum member that a seven day notice to switch ourselves to an alternative provider, rather than Ofgem interfering would have been more useful, and then for those who decided to go with SP, well and good. Have looked at other providers to be ready the moment the “call” comes through, and at this stage I think I will go with Octopus again. Not the cheap cheapest, but good for sure, and probably for all the worry would be suitable. Thanks0

ThanksCancelling the YE direct debit is sensible, as it probably would have collected further payments and those payments would only find their way to SP indirectly if at all. Since you now have a SP DD which will probably collect soon, there should be no issue and you will need this to qualify for the slightly cheaper rate for paying by DD. As mentioned in several of the other posts, you can't switch supplier more than once every 28 days, which means you will need to give it some time after SP gains your supply before starting a switch from SP to another supplier.A supplier with good customer service would be a good choice - because if your initial switching application fails, you should be able to get them to keep trying.0

I have heard nothing more from them since that initial email on Dec 7th but my SP direct debit has been set up. Am I right in thinking that they are required to give notice before collecting the first payment?0

Second one on the list, "Energy Exclusive Online", click the "View Tariff Information Labels" link and enter your postcode and supply details.
