My final Bill was the 1st of March from SP.
still waiting for my £226 credit from SP, the credit is still showing in my YE account, but also know showing in my SP account.

my YE account number ends in 165.

I was prepared to wait a week or so, but reckon I will be giving SP a call quite soon. The reason I haven’t contacted SP, is I’ve had no problems with them so far. 🤭🤫

Got my cheque from YE yesterday. Was expecting the credit to be taken off the Scottish Power account, but hey ho it is what it is, at least I have the money.

I'm going to give SP one more week to refund me via bank transfer before I call them again - it's been a month since my supplies left them, final bills are there and YE credit was applied to account so £104 in final credit with SP...last week they said they may send a cheque, I said the dd is still active so bank payment, they said give it another week....terrible customer s..ervice

  • Now that my SP a/c set up, first DD taken & first bill produced I have already initiated my switch away. Luckily my YE final bill credit is only £12.59. (I said they were the only energy supply company that could assess my usage accurately!).
Decided to switch to Shell Energy. Electricity moved on 6 Mar & Gas today (16 Mar). Shell have already offered me an automatic £30 compensation because the Gas switch has exceeded the maximum time allowed. On checking my SP a/c they used the transfer electricity MR I gave to Shell to finalise my electricity but have over-estimated  the gas meter reading (as I feared they might as they have none of my history to go by). Fingers crossed that it gets sorted.

I have finally received a bill from SP (electricity only)...in the post.  My address was mangled, but at least the postman was able to deliver it.  It purports to be a "final" bill, but for some reason the closing reading is estimated - and significantly different from the reading I gave almost 2 months ago to my new supplier Green Energy (I long ago had my first bill from them with the right opening balance).  So I log into my SP account to input the correct meter reading, but there is no facility to do that.  So do I waste another half hour of my life on the phone to them just to give them the reading they should have got from Green, or do I wait for the right reading to catch up with them?

At least they got the opening reading right, and YE's closing bill some weeks ago was right.

Well  you've been waiting about the same time as me, I've not been expecting it till around now
As they said when I enquired
""Once the Yorkshire Energy credit gets applied on the account, the system will initiate the refund and it will take another 15-20 working days for bank transfer/cheque through post.""
So my credit should be received around the 20th March to 25th March
Really don't understand why it takes so long once the credit has been applied

I had the same issue and managed to get SP to correct it via chat.

I've been passed from Supplier to supplier over the last 12 months! I opened an account with tonik first on the basis they had a free boiler service which i got in quickly thankfully before they went pop, and was forced over to Scottish Power. I then tried to switch to Yorkshire Energy as above but the switch didn't work and it kicked my application - still no idea why but assume financial difficultly from YE as above?
I've now just moved to SO Energy and so far so good. They have good reviews on Trustpilot and rates are best I could find so happy there. I have a referral link for anyone struggling with the other suppliers and it gives a £40 credit :)
Just so you know referrals should not be posted in normal threads like this one, but should be posted in the Referrals section of the forum, otherwise these threads would just become full of referral links (as no doubt many of us are now in in a position to refer from the new or existing suppliers we are with).
